Street Fighter 6 Smashes 6 Million Sales Milestone Worldwide
Capcom celebrates hitting 6 million units sold as momentum builds. We analyze the winning strategy outpacing Street Fighter V and the roadmap for the game's future.
Highlights
- Street Fighter 6 has officially surpassed 6 million units sold worldwide as of November 20, 2025.
- Momentum remains strong with 300,000 copies sold in the last two months, aided by the Switch 2 release.
- Capcom targets 10 million lifetime sales, fueling growth with upcoming DLC characters like Mai Shiranui.
Capcom has officially confirmed that Street Fighter 6 has crossed the impressive milestone of 6 million units sold worldwide as of November 20, 2025. To celebrate the achievement, the publisher shared a message of gratitude to the community alongside a special commemorative illustration of the high-fashion grappler Manon.
This major commercial victory cements the title’s status as a flagship release, proving that the premier competitive brawler still has serious momentum over 24 months post-release.
The sales figures reveal a remarkably consistent performance for the RE Engine-powered fighter. According to the latest data, the game had reached 5.7 million units sold as of September 30, 2025. This indicates that the title successfully shifted an additional 300,000 copies in just under two months, crossing the 6 million mark.
This recent momentum is part of a steady upward trajectory, likely bolstered by the game’s release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2025. It also helped push the total sales past 5 million earlier this year.
Winning Strategy and Future Roadmap
Much of this success is attributed to Capcom’s strategy of balancing nostalgia with accessibility. By offering a diverse roster that mixes icons such as Ryu and Chun-Li with newcomers including Jamie, alongside immersive modes such as World Tour and the Battle Hub, the game has captured a massive audience.
This broad appeal has allowed Street Fighter 6 to significantly outpace its predecessor, Street Fighter V, which has sold around 7.8 million copies since its release in 2016.
Looking ahead, Capcom is showing no signs of slowing down as it chases a lifetime goal of 10 million sales for Street Fighter 6. The game is currently in the midst of its "Year 2" content roadmap, having recently added Terry Bogard. While fan favourites Mai Shiranui and Elena are scheduled to arrive soon.
With plans already in motion to introduce characters like Alex and Ingrid in 2026, Street Fighter 6 is well-positioned to dominate the genre for years to come.
