Subnautica 2 Tops Steam Wishlist Followed by Forza Horizon 6

Krafton’s Subnautica 2 currently ranks as the most wishlisted upcoming game on Steam for 2026, followed by Forza Horizon 6. Alinea Analytics’ latest analysis estimates roughly 3.8M in wishlisting activity for the upcoming Subnautica sequel, signalling strong pre-launch metrics ahead of its 2026 launch.

Trailing in second place is Forza Horizon 6, with an estimated 2.6M Steam wishlists and significant pre-orders already converting into early revenue ahead of its May 19, 2026, launch. Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem sits in third place, drawing about 2.5M wishlists as it prepares for its February release.

Valve’s “Top Wishlists” chart is not a 1:1 total wishlist count for the said titles; the rankings emphasize “velocity,” or how quickly a video game title is getting wishlisted on Steam. However, these figures offer an understanding of PC gamers activity for the titles releasing in the 2026 season.

Subnautica 2 Leads Steam Chart with Legacy and Longevity

Subnautica 2’s position at the top of the Steam wishlist chart reflects both the enduring popularity of the franchise and the title’s extended storefront presence. Over 15M copies of the original Subnautica were sold across all platforms, and Subnautica: Below Zero, the standalone expansion from 2019, is also close to selling 5M copies.

Subnautica 2 has been wishlisted since November 2024, a time period significantly longer than other high-profile 2026 release entries, giving it more time to accumulate engagement. In the case of Subnautica 2, activities such as the Leviathan dev log in September 2025 have also helped stabilize the continued wishlist growth.

Other Most Wishlisted Games on Steam

Xbox Game Studios’ Forza Horizon 6 is not only the second most-wishlisted game for 2026, but is reported to be a major revenue driver. The title has already sold about 220K copies through pre-orders on Steam, generating approximately $13 million USD in pre-release revenue.

Legacy played a significant role in Forza Horizon 6 as well. As per Alinea Analytics, approximately 40% of the wishlisters have previously played titles from the Forza franchise.

As already mentioned, Resident Evil Requiem is the third most-wishlisted 2026-release title on the Steam chart. According to Capcom’s statement, the title has already surpassed 5M total wishlisting activity combining all platforms’ data.

Despite being in third place, Requiem has surpassed Forza Horizon 6 in early revenue and pre-sale metrics. Resident Evil Requiem has sold 250k copies, generating a revenue of approximately $15M, from Steam alone. Both titles are priced at $69.99 on Steam.

It's important to note that according to Steam’s “Most Wishlisted Upcoming Steam Games” chart, Valve’s own title Deadlock and Hello Games’ survival title Light No Fire are positioned between Subnautica 2 and Forza Horizon 6. However, the release dates of these games have not been confirmed, while Forza and Resident Evil titles are slated for 2026 releases.
