Tencent's mobile game, Honor of Kings, has officially become the most-played video game on the planet. During its 10th-anniversary celebration, publisher Level Infinite revealed that the game's combined global monthly active users (MAUs) have surged past an unprecedented 260 million players in 2025. This milestone sets a new global record for one of the highest monthly player counts ever achieved by a single game.
The game's success isn't just global; it's crushing its own records at home. The official Honor of Kings X handle confirmed that its Chinese server alone now sees over 139 million daily active users (DAUs). This new figure obliterates its previous peak record of 100 million DAUs, which was set just last year in 2024. To put that daily player count in perspective, it is larger than the entire population of Japan.
In a post celebrating the news, the developers thanked the players. “Thank you, my dear friends, for your warmth and passion! Our past is an epic story, and now is the beginning of our continued journey forward! Thank you for being here with Honor of Kings – you are irreplaceable!"
A Decade of Community-Driven Success
Developer TiMi Studio Group attributes this decade of success to its strong focus on community feedback. The game has been continuously improved based on player suggestions. Recent updates include new quality-of-life features like real-time voice-to-text translation, key gameplay adjustments to spawn times and rewards, a revamped Honor Pass, and a new customizable avatar feature called Flowborn.
This community-driven approach also guides the game's global expansion. The international version of the game was recently rebranded as Honor of Kings Plus. This major update was heavily shaped by player feedback and now supports multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malay, with plans to add more in the future.
During the anniversary celebration, the company also laid out a clear plan for the future, officially expanding the Honor of Kings universe with two new titles. Fans were given a fresh look at Honor of Kings: World, a highly anticipated open-world action RPG set to launch in Spring 2026.
This multi-platform title, built on Unreal Engine 5, will explore the main game's lore on PC, console, and mobile. Alongside it, the company announced Honor of Kings: Wanxiang Chess, a new auto-battler title that will begin large-scale testing this December.
