Highlights

  • Xibbon has launched Xogot, a full-featured Godot game engine app for the iPhone.
  • The app allows for complete, professional game development on a mobile device.
  • It is available on the App Store with both free and paid pro tiers for users.

In a move that could fundamentally change workflows for game developers, veteran Apple developer Xibbon has officially launched Xogot for the iPhone. The app is a full, mobile-optimised version of the popular Godot game engine, bringing a complete development suite to your pocket.

This expansion follows its successful debut on the iPad in May 2025, making professional-grade game creation accessible across Apple's entire mobile ecosystem.

Godot is a powerful game engine that has been enjoying incredible growth in adoption, but until now, it’s been desktop-bound,” said Xibbon CEO and co-founder Miguel de Icaza. “With Xogot for iPhone, we’re putting that same power in your pocket. Whether you’re prototyping on the train or refining your level designs in a coffee shop, Xogot transforms the iPhone into a truly personal game studio.”

A Game-Changing Godot Engine Experience on iPhone

Developed in 2023 to fill a gap for professional mobile tools, Xogot is far from a simplified companion app. It's a full native port of the Godot editor, meticulously rebuilt with SwiftUI to create a touch-friendly experience that feels perfectly at home on iOS.

It offers a complete feature set, including full 2D and 3D development with tile maps, a mobile-optimised GDScript code editor, an integrated debugger, and full access to Godot’s Asset Library.

Recent updates have also added Jolt Physics integration for high-performance physics and a Metal rendering backend optimised for Apple's GPUs.

The app is built for a seamless workflow, allowing projects to be imported from iCloud, GitHub, or USB drives, with full compatibility with the desktop version of Godot. "As someone who has always believed in the creative potential of Apple’s devices, Xogot makes the iPhone a fully capable game development tool for whenever and wherever inspiration strikes,” de Icaza added.

The implications of this launch are significant. For professionals, it provides incredible flexibility to fix bugs or prototype ideas anywhere. For new creators, it helps lower the hardware barrier to entry. With mobile gaming revenue projected by Statista to reach $126.06 billion in 2025, the ability to develop on mobile devices is a powerful advantage.

Xibbon has confirmed it is focusing its expertise on the Apple ecosystem and has no current plans for an Android version.

Xogot is available now on the Apple App Store for both iPhone and iPad. It comes in two tiers: a free Xogot Lite version with core features for smaller projects and Xogot Pro, which unlocks the app's full power for larger projects.

The Pro version is available via subscription for $2.99/month, $29.99/year, or through a one-time $149.99 lifetime purchase. In a move to support the community, Xibbon is also offering free access to students and participants in game jams, further democratising professional game development for a new generation of creators.
