THQ Nordic 2026: Darksiders 4, Gothic Remake & 12 Mystery Games

In a massive flex of its development muscle, THQ Nordic has confirmed that a whopping 12 unannounced games are currently in the works, making up nearly half of its massive 29-game production pipeline. The Austria-based publisher dropped this news right at the end of its latest THQ Nordic Digital Showcase broadcast on Friday, August 7, 2026. While fans initially tuned in to catch fresh glimpses of the publisher’s upcoming PC and console releases, the realization that over 40% of the company’s slate remains a total mystery has immediately set the internet buzzing.

The exact breakdown of this roadmap leaves plenty of room for speculation, as the company laid the numbers out plainly on the screen before fading to black. The broadcast’s closing message directly stated: “As of today, THQ Nordic has a total of 29 games in development. 12 remain unannounced after this showcase.” That leaves 17 titles which have already been revealed to the public or are currently playable in early access.

Industry observers and gaming outlets like VGC quickly noted that keeping such a large portion of an active development roster in the shadows points to an aggressive, forward-looking strategy. This heavy secrecy could easily mean major reveals are just around the corner at upcoming industry events.

Even with a dozen secrets firmly locked in the vault, the digital showcase handed gamers a mountain of concrete details regarding those 17 known titles. Classic RPG fans are getting fed exceptionally well, with the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake leading the charge. Gamers also finally got release dates for upcoming console launches, with Gothic 2 Complete Classic arriving on September 29, 2026, and Gothic 3 Classic following on November 24, 2026.

Reanimal DLC and Way of the Hunter 2 Release Dates

Meanwhile, the event shadow-dropped some terrifying news for horror fans as The Prisoner, the first of three planned story DLCs for the co-op adventure Reanimal, was made available immediately. Simulation fans weren't left out of the release date party either, receiving confirmation that Way of the Hunter 2 will officially launch on September 29, 2026, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as per VGC. 

The showcase also served as a massive day for early access titles and huge game updates. The tactical historical RPG Expeditions: Samurai officially launched into Early Access on Friday, letting players dive right into the action. Additionally, Titan Quest 2, which originally launched into Early Access during last year’s showcase, received a major "Spirit Mastery" update to keep its dedicated player base hooked. 

Racing fans were treated to fresh early access gameplay reveals for the vehicular mayhem of Wreckfest 2. The broader PC lineup was fleshed out heavily with deep strategy and simulation games, confirming active development for The Guild: Europa 1410, Fatekeeper, Call to Arms: Panzer Elite, and Space for Sale. Action fans, on the other hand, have plenty of brutal combat to look forward to with the ongoing development of Darksiders 4.

Nintendo fans looking toward the future hardware generation had plenty to cheer about as well. The showcase confirmed a slate of upcoming Switch 2 releases, including the colorful platforming adventure Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. Virtual pop stars can also start warming up their vocal cords for Let's Sing 2027 and Let's Sing ABBA, with both karaoke titles set to hit the Switch 2 on November 3, 2026. 

The event also dazzled viewers with a stunning new trailer for the narrative platformer The Eternal Life of Goldman. Rounding out the known projects, developer DigixArt, fresh off releasing Tides of Tomorrow earlier this year, teased that they are working on a brand-new, unannounced game set in their acclaimed Road 96 universe. 

As for what those remaining 12 completely unannounced titles actually are, they remain a closely guarded secret spanning THQ Nordic’s network. With a lineup this packed, players will just have to speculate on what legacy properties or original concepts are hiding in the vault, but it is clear gamers will be keeping their controllers busy all year long.
