Abu Dhabi-based strategy games studio Hypemasters, Inc. has raised $1 million USD in a funding round led by Impact46, with significant participation from GEM Capital. The investment will support the studio’s ongoing work on new strategy titles across mobile and PC. Hypemasters operates across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, with its main development center in the United Arab Emirates.

The studio is currently working on several upcoming projects, including a new mobile title that is already in soft launch. “We’re focused on deepening our presence across the region and pushing forward with the next generation of strategy games, including a major new title already in soft launch,” said CEO and co-founder Boris Kalmykov.

World War Armies' Success and Prior Funding Set the Stage

Founded in 2019, Hypemasters develops real-time strategy games for global audiences across PC and mobile platforms. Its flagship title, World War Armies, a PvP real-time strategy game, has surpassed $7M players to date, establishing the studio’s presence in the mobile RTS (Real-Time strategy) market.

The latest funding follows Hypemasters’ earlier $3.25 million round in 2022, backed by GEM Capital, The Games Fund, and Ludus, which helped the studio scale to a 34-person team.

With development anchored in the UAE and teams spread across multiple regions, Hypemasters continues to expand its portfolio as one of the strategy-focused studios emerging from the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, using the new capital to advance its next slate of titles.
