Zelda Pre-Order Leak May Be Linked to Beast of Reincarnation
An apparent Zelda pre-order leak may have pulled data from another game.
Highlights
- A Google result briefly showed a pre-order date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on GameStop.
- NateTheHate said the information likely belonged to Beast of Reincarnation.
- Nintendo has yet to confirm the Zelda remake's pre-order timing, price, or release date.
A Google search result linked to GameStop briefly suggested that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 would open pre-orders on Aug 4, 2026. However, industry insider NateTheHate stated that the information likely came from another game.
Reddit user Naive_Associate_15 captured the result showing "08/04/2026 PRE-ORDER." The date was later removed. The listing revealed no price, collector's edition, or release date.
August 4 Date May Belong to Beast of Reincarnation
On X, NateTheHate (@NateTheHate2) noted that GameStop had not leaked the Zelda game's pre-order date or price. "Google is pulling the release date & pricing information for Beast of Reincarnation," he wrote. That title launches Aug 4, with its standard edition priced at $59.99 USD.
Before the clarification, the Tuesday (Aug 4) date fueled speculation about a Nintendo Direct. Nintendo's August schedule is also relatively open ahead of Gamescom on August 26, fueling speculation about a new trailer or a possible demo at the event.
The June 9 teaser left the remake's scope unclear. An earlier edited Google result described it as a "full remake" with updated visuals and designs. Fans have questioned whether it will remain faithful to the original or introduce broader changes.
Zelda's 40th Anniversary Keeps New Announcements in Focus
NateTheHate previously suggested the game could be a major holiday title. Tears of the Kingdom had roughly three to four months between a showcase and launch, making October or November 2026 a possible window. Neither timing is confirmed.
A holiday release could strengthen Switch 2's lineup amid reports of a September 1 price increase and rumors of a limited-edition Zelda console. A November arrival would also place the game near GTA VI.
The franchise marked its 40th anniversary on Feb 21, 2026. Nintendo and Hasbro have announced new Zelda toys, with the first reveal planned for San Diego Comic-Con. The Legend of Zelda movie arrives in April 2027, with no trailer released yet.
For now, the Aug 4 claim appears to be a search data mismatch rather than a confirmed retail leak.
