Highlights

  • Jonathan Amaral is forming his own BGMI team, Team Apex Gaming, to compete in the Indian esports scene.
  • He quit GodLike Esports earlier in 2026 during the transfer season to join the new team.
  • Jonathan will serve as a founding member and active player on the new roster.

Jonathan Jude Amaral, popularly known as Jonatham Gaming, has officially quit GodLike Esports and is forming his own Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) team. He is a veteran esports player from India who has competed at the highest level over the years. His move to form his own organization marks a major shift in his career.

Team Apex Gaming was formed just a fortnight after Jonathan quit GodLike Esports during the current BGMI transfer window season. On April 12, 2026, he announced his new team, but details about the lineup are currently unavailable. Jonathan will be leading the team both as a founder and an active player.

Team Apex Gaming is Set to Compete in BGIS 2026

Jonathan’s team launch follows his exit from GodLike Esports, where he played a central role since 2021. He joined as part of the former TSM core alongside Suraj "Neyoo" Majumdar, Harpreet "ZGOD" Singh, and Siddhant "ClutchGod" Joshi, under coach Abhijeet "Ghatak" Andhare.

Over four and a half years, Jonathan became the face of the organization and one of the most recognizable names in BGMI esports. The turning point that led to Team Apex Gaming’s formation came during the Battlegrounds India Series (BGIS) 2026 season, when he was benched for the first time in his career.

He had already registered Amaral Esports Pvt Ltd in late March, indicating that Jonathan’s new team was in motion before the public announcement. The launch video, titled It’s Time to Rise, went live on April 12. The team will compete in BGIS 2026 and beyond.

Team Apex Gaming BGMI Players List and Tournament Plans

The Team Apex Gaming BGMI players list is still under development. Many in the BGMI community speculate that Gunjan “Jelly” Thakur is a primary target for Jonathan's new BGMI team. Thakur is currently an active player for True Rippers.

The rest of the roster remains unconfirmed as the transfer window stays open through April. Fans will find out the final lineup only after the transfer window ends. The expected Team Apex Gaming tournament debut is likely to be Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS 2026), the next major event in the BGMI circuit. The event would become an entry point for Team Apex Gaming to join the big leagues against more established rosters.

To compete, the organization must complete roster verification and secure qualification before the transfer window closes. The timeline places immediate pressure on the team, and Jonathan has less than three weeks to complete the signup process.

With Jonathan now operating as a player, founder, and brand leader within Team Apex Gaming, he will be directly responsible for his team’s success. His fans will be excited to see how he performs against other strong teams at national and international events.
