- The project spotlights the enduring global appeal and achievements of Hajime Isayama’s landmark manga.
To mark sixteen years since Attack on Titan’s debut, a worldwide merchandise project has been unveiled that lets fans craft a unique collector’s panel. Enthusiasts can choose from 52 illustrations, spanning the full run of manga volume covers and a range of striking magazine artworks. This marks the first time these covers, including the art from the official collection book, have been offered in full color as collectible merchandise.
Buyers select their favorite artwork, which is then produced as an exclusive panel display. Each panel is accompanied by a metal serial number plate, ensuring that no two pieces are alike. The specific number is assigned at random, and buyers are not able to select or request particular serial codes, reinforcing the uniqueness of each item.
The Enduring Legacy of Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan first appeared in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in September 2009, captivating readers with its intense visuals and resonant themes. The manga follows Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert as they join the Survey Corps in a desperate battle for humanity’s survival beyond the city’s massive barricades. Over the years, the series has grown into a global cultural phenomenon, known for its dramatic story arcs and unpredictable twists.
With more than 140 million copies sold worldwide, Attack on Titan ranks among the most successful manga of all time. It has collected numerous awards for its story and illustrations. Its impact has been amplified by a high-profile anime adaptation, which began airing in 2013 and concluded in late 2023. The franchise has further expanded through two-part live-action films, a robust merchandise line, and an announced Hollywood adaptation.
This new project not only honors the series’ past but also gives fans a chance to own a part of its history, blending personal expression with official artwork. The release underscores Attack on Titan’s continued relevance with collectors and its ongoing influence within both Japanese and global pop culture.
