BTS Return Lifts Weverse’s Active Users to 12M
BTS' comeback promotes engagement and commerce, while Latin America propelled Weverse's superfan growth worldwide in 2025.
- Weverse set a new high of 12 million MAUs in 2025, fueled by BTS' reunion.
- As user involvement increased, the platform sold 25.2M items, bolstering its superfan economy.
- Latin America drove Weverse's global expansion, accounting for about 90% of all traffic from other countries.
HYBE's Weverse superfan platform had a record 12 million monthly active users (MAUs) in 2025, strengthening its position as the leader of direct-to-fan engagement in the worldwide music industry. The achievement, detailed in Weverse's 2025 Fandom Trend Report, demonstrates increased fan involvement and economic traction across numerous regions.
The surge, according to the research, was fueled in part by BTS's June 2025 full-group reunion, which resulted in a 300% month-over-month increase in new community followers while being the first act on the platform to reach 30M followers. Apart from BTS, KATSEYE achieved 2.3M community followers, with their average Weverse LIVE views increasing by 490% year on year. On the other hand, YG's BLACKPINK also reached 10M community followers, becoming the first girl group to attain the milestone on the platform.

Engagement and Commerce Metrics Point Upward for Weverse
In 2025, Weverse users spent a standard 263 minutes per month on the platform, resulting in 303M total posts and comments. Whereas, artists conducted 6,558 Weverse LIVE sessions, resulting in more than 1 billion views, indicating a metric that showcases deep fan engagement instead of audience scale.
Weverse also flourished commercially in 2025, with the Weverse Shop selling 25.2M products that year. Notably, digital product purchases have more than doubled year on year, after a 20.6M item haul in 2024, in which digital items (including memberships) increased by around 24%.

Latin America and Global Expansion of the HYBE Subsidiary
According to Weverse President Joon Choi, nearly 90% of traffic is generated outside of South Korea, reflecting the company's global footprint. Notably, Latin America became Weverse's fastest-growing market in 2025, with a 22% growth in users and a 715% rise in digital retail sales. HYBE's strategic expenditures, which include local content initiatives and regional label launches, appear to be paying off as the market grows. Latin music revenues reportedly increased by 22.5% in 2024, with streaming accounting for approximately 88% of the growth. In addition to Latin America, the platform had significant users in countries like China, Indonesia, Japan, and the United States.

Weverse’s Superfan Conversion and Industry Race
According to the most recent data from HYBE, the platform is generating superfans rather than simply serving them. Approximately 15% of users got more active over time, whereas 20% of superfans started out as casual users.
This concept of conversion is increasingly gaining traction as industry giants like Universal Music Group are actively shifting toward "superfan" technologies and premium tiers in order to capitalize on the high-intensity listener engagement. This sector is so profitable that Goldman Sachs believes it may inject $4.3B USD in yearly recorded music revenues.
While mega-IPs like BTS and BLACKPINK continue to spark engagement worldwide, Weverse is successfully harnessing that raw energy to propel platform growth. By doing so, it has created a clear precedent for commercialization, laying the groundwork for the rest of the music industry to emulate.
