BTS Tokyo returns after 7 years, setting the infamous Tokyo Dome on fire. The group’s comeback at the iconic venue this weekend brought in a capacity crowd of 110,000 fans. The BTS live concert in Tokyo ran for two sold-out nights, with the group’s performances triggering the “purple wave” across the galleries.

What Songs did BTS Perform at the Tokyo Concert?

Old high-energy hip-hop hits like Not Today and MIC Drop were performed by the members at the BTS Japan concert 2026. However, the evening’s apex was defined by Body to Body, the first track of their new album ARIRANG. By integrating the traditional Korean folk melody of Arirang into the song, the group sparked a stadium-wide chorus extending far beyond the stage vocals of the members. 

This homogeneous reaction to the Arirang melody across ARMY in Japan, depicted exactly what HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk had earlier expected on a greater magnitude. The septet too, paused briefly on-stage to absorb the overwhelming emotional response. It proved that the global phenomenon HYBE Chairman was trying to create with BTS had achieved an early success.

Although global chart-toppers Butter and Dynamite retained a steady momentum, the group leveraged their Japanese discography in the Tokyo shows. While singing “random songs” across the two-night showcase, the group performed Crystal Snow (2017) and FOR YOU (2015). Even though the tracks are about a decade old, the crowd response highlighted the longevity of the group’s regional influence.

In Japan, How Much Do BTS Concert Tickets Cost? Was Official Merch Available at the Venue?

The BTS Japan concert dates were officially set for April 17 and 18, 2026. Fans could secure official merchandise via on-site pickup stalls in front of Gate 22 of the Tokyo Dome. However, they had to register via Weverse on a prior basis. Earlier to this, BTS Arirang pop-up stores were opened up in Shibuya and Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, which also required pre-booking via Weverse to visit and buy. The reservation system was reportedly introduced due to high demand from the fanbase of BTS, known as ARMY.

As for the tickets, the VAT-included price for the BTS Tokyo shows was as follows:

• VIP seats: 45,000 Yen (~ $283 USD)
• SS seats: 35,000 Yen (~ $220)
• S seats: 25,000 Yen (~ $157)

When was BTS’ Last Concert in Tokyo Before This?

Towards the end of the concert, BTS members delivered special messages to the fans at the Tokyo event in Japanese. Jimin read out a letter he wrote, saying that it has been a long time since his last visit and that he was grateful to be back. He further added, he “will work harder” to show fans “more and more beautiful stages.” The group’s last Japan appearance was in July 2019, when the members visited the country for the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium world tour.

Notably, after the conclusion of the recent shows in Japan, the members later responded via BigHit Music by saying, “Even though it's been a while, you welcomed us with the same cheers and smiles,” hinting at that same profound sense of nostalgia.

BTS ARIRANG World Tour 2026 Upcoming Stops

Post the Tokyo and Goyang run, the ARIRANG world tour will now be moving towards the West. The very first show in its Western leg includes the United States, where BTS will be performing for three nights, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on April 25, 26, and 28.

As per the BTS Japan event latest update, band members Suga, J-Hope, and Jimin were spotted arriving back at Gimpo Airport in Seoul on April 18, 2026, indicating that the other members, RM, Jin, V, and Jungkook, are still in Japan. As per social media discussions, the remaining members are reportedly staying back in the country for individual schedules and personal time. 

After their performance in Florida, they are next scheduled to perform in El Paso (US), Mexico City (Mexico), Stanford (US), and Las Vegas (US) throughout May.
