  • BTS received 84% in a Billboard Super Bowl poll, outperforming Taylor Swift and BLACKPINK.
  • ARIRANG to debut on March 20, 2026, with a free, Netflix-streamed concert at Gwanghwamun Square, marking their first full-group return since the military.
  • BTS' 82-show tour spanning 34 countries, along with movie screenings and London stadium sellouts, transforms the comeback into a global economic event.

South Korean boy band BTS has topped fan demand to headline the Super Bowl 2027 Halftime Show, with about 84% of votes in a recent Billboard poll, overtaking the popularity of other performers. Social media postings related to the poll revealed that BTS has the lion's share of fan preference, with competing artists like Taylor Swift (2%) and BLACKPINK (2%) trailing far behind.

BTS, who have completed South Korea's compulsory military service, will release their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, on March 20, 2026, about four years after their last full-group effort. As per market analysts, this is anticipated to be the group’s biggest comeback cycle in history. After the release of the album, the band will perform a free concert at Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square on March 21 that will be livestreamed worldwide via Netflix (BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG), a first for a K-pop group/Korean artist of this caliber.

ARIRANG World Tour Scales Up Demand for BTS

BTS will set out on an 82-show world tour in 34 countries from April 2026 to March 2027, one of the most extensive global tours ever announced. Crucial early data show that fan-club presales sold out promptly in Goyang, with extra North American and European dates added due to high demand. Notably, stadium dates at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in July 2026 are guaranteed sellouts, with an estimated total attendance of nearly 120,000 over two nights.

The ARIRANG World Tour, in addition to the live performance in Gwanghwamun, is projected to have a significant economic impact on host regions in South Korea. In fact, statistics linked to ticket announcements show that hotel occupancy and associated travel searches have already increased around key dates.

BTS is also taking its ARIRANG comeback to cinemas all across the world, in addition to stadium shows. Two concerts from the 2026 world tour, Goyang and Tokyo, will be shown live in theaters throughout the world in April, enabling fans to see the shows in numerous markets. The strategy builds on the economic success of BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul: Live Viewing, which earned more than $30 million USD worldwide (data from Box Office Mojo) and was among the highest-grossing concert films. By combining stadium sellouts with cinema distribution and Netflix livestream, BTS is transforming tour demand into a cross-platform revenue generator rather than restricting it to physical locations.

BTS’ Popularity and NFL’s Global Spotlight

The National Football League's halftime show now serves as a calibrated global marketing platform, with audience analytics indicating international influence as well as entertainment value. In this sense, BTS' increase in fan involvement is a measurable measure of cross-border cultural pull. The importance increased following Super Bowl LX, when headliner Bad Bunny earned great global viewership figures, reinforcing the league's policy of selecting acts with established international streaming and social footprints. Against that backdrop, BTS' engagement figures provide evidence of the NFL's rising cultural reach beyond the United States market. Although the poll shows significant success for BTS, it must be considered that the poll is based on fan vote and that the NFL has not yet confirmed anything officially.
