Dragon Ball will celebrate its 40th anniversary with Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, a massive fan event that will take place in Chiba's Makuhari Messe on January 25, 2026. Event organizers revealed that it will be live streamed globally on Toei Animation's official YouTube channel, allowing fans who are unable to attend in person to look out for major announcements and moments in real time.
Dragon Ball: Global Access to the Celebration of Four Decades
The official Genkidamatsuri website features a full day of streamed programming for the event. It includes several Genkida Stage segments filled with special announcements, game showcases, and panel discussions. Fans can expect dedicated sessions for Dragon Ball titles such as Dokkan Battle, Legends, and Super Divers, followed by a special live performance by singer Hironobu Kageyama.
Genkidamatsuri, the grand finale of Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary celebrations, will also include exhibitions of anime, manga, merchandise, along with other interactive events. Executive producer Akio Iyoku and voice actress Masako Nozawa are also set to make onstage appearances, highlighting the anime’s long-standing legacy.

Dragon Ball DAIMA premiered in late 2024 in honor of the franchise's anniversary and has been a huge success among the fans. Its Blu-ray version is set to be released on Crunchyroll on March 3, 2026, alongside Solo Leveling Season 2.
