Hunter x Hunter Manga Resumes Serialization from June 2026
Hunter x Hunter Manga Returns on Weekly Shonen Jump
Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga resumes publication weeks after a new volume release was confirmed.
Highlights
- Hunter x Hunter manga returns in June with chapter 411.
- The return arrives shortly before the release of Hunter x Hunter Volume 39 on July 3.
- With reports indicating Togashi has completed work on multiple future chapters, Hunter x Hunter could get a longer serialization run this time.
Weekly Shonen Jump (WSJ) issue 30, released on June 22, confirmed that Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter manga returns in the magazine’s next issue on June 29. Reportedly, the manga’s chapter 411 will be the first new installment in the June 29 issue, following an 18-month hiatus.
The latest hiatus began after the publication of Hunter x Hunter chapter 410 in WSJ issue 2 of 2025. The manga is currently in the Succession Contest arc narrative, with Togashi already finished inking till chapter 431, as of June 14.
The serialization return of Hunter x Hunter manga follows the early June announcement of Hunter X Hunter Volume 39 release. The volume, scheduled to release on July 3, will compile chapters 401 to 410 of the manga.
Hunter x Hunter Manga Return Adds Momentum Ahead of Volume 39 Launch
Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 1998, as one of Japanese manga’s longest-running franchises. As of 2022, the manga has sold over 84M copies, including both physical and digital editions.
The franchise has also expanded with anime adaptations and gaming titles. Despite its commercial success, Hunter x Hunter has remained a manga property, known for its disrupted serialization. Due to consistent health issues, the author has become well-known for taking a hiatus and pausing serialization.
Each of the past two returns in 2023 and 2024 covered roughly 10 Hunter x Hunter chapters in each window before taking another break. Current reports indicate that Togashi has already completed work on 20 chapters beyond chapter 411, raising expectations that this return could last longer than previous runs.
For a franchise that has tested fan loyalty through decades of interrupted schedules, the serialization announcement will bring visible momentum before the Vol. 39 launch. For Shueisha, bringing Hunter x Hunter manga back to Weekly Shonen Jump strengthens its lineup with one of its most recognizable brands ahead of a new volume release and the second half of 2026.
