  • HYBE is bringing Santos Bravos to South Korea for a three-week promotional tour.
  • The group aims to “proudly” showcase their “Latin roots” in the “birthplace of K-pop.”
  • Santos Bravos is currently aiming to scale up its Dual era after they performed in high-end festivals and performance sets with artists like Shakira.

HYBE is set to bring its ambitious Latin American group to K-pop’s home ground. Santos Bravos, the boy group based in Mexico, is scheduled to arrive in South Korea this Friday for a three-week promotional tour.

Santos Bravos’ arrival will also mark their first appearance on domestic music programs since their October launch. By performing in places in South Korea, which defined the global K-pop phenomenon, it aims to close the gaps between two distinct musical worlds. According to the Korea Herald, the group called the tour a “meaningful challenge” to promote themselves in “Korea, the birthplace of K-pop.” They further stated that they want to “present great performances with respect” while “proudly showcasing” their “Latin roots.”

HYBE’s Global Expansion Play with Santos Bravos

HYBE’s Latin American expansion is a strategic outcome of its premium growth market, which is currently being fueled by double-digit gains on a yearly basis and a broad streaming culture. Under HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s “multihome, multigenre” theory, the company is aiming to localize its operations to increase its global footprint by creating groups like Santos Bravos, which act as a physical synthesis of K-pop’s grueling training frameworks and domestic dynamo.

Although Santos Bravos are newcomers, they arrive with a significant global pedigree. The group took the center stage in January at Paris Fashion Week for designer Willy Chavarria’s Fall/Winter 2026 show, Eterno. In a notable feat, they were invited as guest artists at Shakira’s concerts in Mexico, and also performed a high-profile set at Colombia’s Estéreo Picnic festival in March.

Dual Identity, Borderless Sound

Santos Bravos, at the moment, is promoting their first EP, Dual, which explores their complex identity by combining playful charm and instinctive energy. The sonic palette of the album is wide, blending music like reggaeton, Brazilian funk, and club music to highlight the versatility of the group. As they are welcomed into the polished production of Korean stages from major Latin American fests, Santos Bravos is a live case study of HYBE’s aim of having a borderless music industry.
