Iconic By Mistake Hits 100 Million Spotify Streams in 41 Days
The rapid run by Le Sserafim, Illit, and Katseye shows HYBE’s ability to create cross-border streaming momentum without traditional broadcast marketing campaigns.
Highlights
- Le Sserafim, Illit, and Katseye's Iconic By Mistake hit 100 million Spotify streams in 41 days while ranking on US and UK charts.
- The song entered Spotify daily charts in 43 markets despite minimal promotion.
- The milestone comes ahead of performances and new releases from all three groups.
HYBE’s cross-unit single Iconic By Mistake reached 100 million Spotify streams on July 24, 2026, hitting the mark 41 days after its digital debut. The alternative-pop track, recorded jointly by HYBE sub-label artists Le Sserafim, Illit, and Katseye, depicts the entertainment conglomerate's approach of blending three unique group audiences to drive instant international consumption.
The song currently ranks No. 21 on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart and No. 38 on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs USA chart. The song peaked at No. 26 on the latter's rankings for the week of June 12–18. On Billboard, the single sits at No. 38 on the Hot 100, and also debuted at No. 12 on Digital Song Sales, No. 25 on the Global 200. Notably, Iconic By Mistake, also reached No. 22 on the UK Official Singles Top 100.
Video consumption has also mirrored audio performance. The official music video on YouTube stands at more than 90M views, while also charting successful day-one entries on Spotify Daily Top Songs charts across 43 countries and territories outside core Asian markets.
Streamlined Promotional Footprint
Iconic By Mistake attained its stream velocity through a tight promotional schedule. HYBE reportedly used one televised appearance of the song through a performance on Mnet’s M Countdown the day before release. With this approach, HYBE opted out of the usual multi-week domestic Korean music broadcast used for promoting fresh K-pop releases. Centering on the lyric "Thanks to your hate, I accidentally became iconic," the release utilized its digital distribution networks instead, and targeted social channels to build momentum.
Immediate Pipeline Execution
The HYBE collaboration acts as a launchpad for wider commercial sets across the three groups this quarter. Le Sserafim recently arrived in Osaka for the Japan leg of their current tour. They will also be performing at the Summer Sonic 2026 festival, taking place across Osaka and Tokyo. Separately, Katseye has already released its new single, Animal, on July 24, 2026, 01:00 p.m. KST, which has garnered over 2 million views in just a few hours. Additionally, Illit is set to drop its second Japanese single, I Got Your Back, on July 26, 2026.
