  • REI AMI reflects on adjusting to a younger audience after KPop Demon Hunters.
  • The singer discusses the unexpected impact of her role as Zoey on her public appearances.
  • REI AMI begins a new chapter with her latest solo release, 2LOUD.

REI AMI says her work on Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters changed how she presents herself around fans, particularly after the film introduced her to a younger audience. The rapper and singer discussed the experience in an AP interview as she released 2LOUD on Sep 18, 2026, her first single since providing the singing voice of Zoey from HUNTR/X.

The transition from Zoey to REI AMI has been unusual because of the differences between their audiences.

She stated that the film’s young following made her more conscious of her language and behavior during interviews and public appearances. “I was very mindful of being more careful with my speech,” REI AMI clarified, adding that the change was about being considerate rather than compromising who she is.

That awareness also extended to her interactions with children.

REI AMI said she began keeping drinks out of view, making eye contact, avoiding profanity, and making other small behavioral adjustments around younger fans. She also stressed that KPop Demon Hunters was not an individual achievement. The project brought together hundreds of people, and she credited the wider team assembled to make the film for its success.

The film's popularity has also expanded the reach of HUNTR/X.

Meanwhile, Golden, performed by REI AMI, EJAE, and Audrey Nuna, became the first song by a K-pop girl group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The multi-platinum track spent multiple weeks at No. 1 and has surpassed one billion global streams.

REI AMI’s 2LOUD Follows KPop Demon Hunters’ Global Success

Released through Republic Records, 2LOUD draws on REI AMI’s experience of being told she was too loud or doing too much. Instead of treating that criticism as something to suppress, the song turns it into a statement of self-assertion.

A visualizer was released alongside the single.

REI AMI’s connection to HUNTR/X has continued through live performances, including appearances at the BRIT Awards, Oscars, and BAFTAs. She also joined the group during KATSEYE’s Sahara Tent set at Coachella.

Moreover, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-streamed film project of all time, while its music has received Oscar and Grammy wins. For REI AMI, 2LOUD marks a return to her solo work after Zoey brought her music to a significantly broader audience.
