Studio Ghibli is expanding its retail presence in the U.S. with the launch of the first official Ghibli store on June 23. The retail chain, Donguri Republic, known for Ghibli and other studio merchandise, will open at Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California.
The Donguri Republic pop-up store will mark the first official Ghibli retail presence in the US. The retail chain operates around 40 stores across Japan and has extended the chain to Taiwan, South Korea, and mainland China over the past decade.
The Studio Ghibli pop-up store is located at Shop No. 179, on 3525 W. Carson Street, and runs till Dec 31, 2026. For Monday to Saturday, the store hours are, 10 am to 9 pm PT, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm PT.
What to Buy at the Official Studio Ghibli Store in the US
The Studio Ghibli pop-up will bring more than 400 officially licensed products from the studio’s anime properties. Attendees can expect My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away plush toys, home decor, and other collectible items.
According to VIZ’s official announcement, the Ghibli pop-up store embodies the studio’s motto of “a place filled with comfort, warmth, and endless smiles.” The store’s interior is reported to feature wood-inspired designs and Ghibli movie scene-inspired designs.
Additionally, customers who spend $100 or more at the grand opening receive a limited-edition Donguri Republic Los Angeles tote bag, while supplies last. The Studio Ghibli store will also participate in the Studio Ghibli Fest 2026. Fans attending the screening event can also claim one of six exclusive film-style bookmarks with a qualifying in-store purchase of $10 or more.
