Highlights

  • KRAFTON introduces Battlin to support grassroots BGMI esports.
  • Battlin Open Season 1 brings a new competitive opportunity for Indian players.
  • The platform aims to improve tournament accessibility, accountability, and player recognition.

KRAFTON has launched Battlin, a tournament platform designed to build a more organized grassroots competitive ecosystem for BGMI players. Announced on Oct 16, 2026, the platform brings tournament discovery, registration, hosting, result tracking, and reward disbursement under one system.

Battlin debuts with Open Season 1, featuring an INR 20 lakh prize pool.

Battlin Brings Players and Organizers Together

Battlin addresses the fragmented tournament process, where players often rely on group chats, shared room IDs, and manually reported results. Players can discover open competitions without personal connections or invitations.

Meanwhile, organizers can manage registrations, rooms, schedules, notifications, automated brackets, results, and rewards through one platform.

Individuals, colleges, creators, gaming cafés, and gaming organizations can host tournaments using the same infrastructure as official competitions. The platform displays reward conditions and disbursement timelines before registration, with payments handled through the platform rather than left entirely to tournament organizers.

At a KRAFTON media roundtable, attended by Outlook Respawn, the company outlined its plans to introduce anti-cheat measures in stages and establish a support system for player concerns. Reports involving hosts who charge participants improperly or mishandle tournaments can be raised with KRAFTON, which said it would take action against reported violations.

James Yongkwan Kim, lead of Battlin at KRAFTON, explained that the platform aims to build a competitive community from the grassroots by making tournaments more accessible. He said Battlin gives players “greater visibility, wider access to tournaments across India, and a clearer route from grassroots participation to recognition.”

Battlin Open Season 1 Offers a BGIS Opportunity

The inaugural competition has more than 5K available slots. Registrations close on Nov 1, 2026, with matches running from Nov 2 to Nov 29, 2026.

  • Track 1: INR 5L prize pool and a Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) qualification slot for the winning team.
  • Track 2: INR 15L prize pool, culminating in the Nov 29 finale to crown the first Battlin Open champion.

KRAFTON confirmed that the platform centers on skill-based competition, with no wagering, staking, or betting mechanics.

BGMI Remains the Initial Focus

Battlin currently supports BGMI, while potential integration of other KRAFTON titles, including Real Cricket, remains unconfirmed. The company has also not announced monetization plans, stating that generating revenue is not its immediate priority.

The platform aims to provide serious competitive players with more structured opportunities to participate and establish their standing. It also seeks to create a clearer path to recognition without requiring players to rely solely on local connections.

Overall, Battlin offers a step towards a more inclusive BGMI esports ecosystem, giving underprivileged players more opportunities to compete and gain recognition.
