Highlights

  • Overwatch Operation: Grand Mesa introduces new comic chapters for the game’s newest agent, Sierra.
  • Players have until May 12 to complete all of the challenges and earn rewards.
  • The event pass is free to unlock and has lore entries, loot boxes, and other cosmetics.

Overwatch’s Season 2 update went live on April 14, 2026. The new patch introduced Sierra, the game’s latest Damage hero, a reworked Antarctic map, new skins, and more. As part of the new update, the game has also added Operation: Grand Mesa, a three-week event with rewards for all players.

The event is already live, and players have until May 12 to earn all of the rewards. Challenges will be added during the first two weeks, and players get one extra week to complete the event pass. Here’s a quick overview of the event challenges and the rewards you can expect.

Overwatch Operation: Grand Mesa Challenges and Rewards

If you are interested in Overwatch’s lore, Operation: Grand Mesa will let you find out more about Sierra, the game’s newest hero. During Week 1 (April 14 to April 20), you have access to Tier 1 Challenges and some Meta Challenges. All of the current week’s challenges can be completed by simply playing any game mode.

Stadium and winning games grant double progress each. If you win a match in Stadium, you can get four times the progress on all of the event challenges. Do note that Stadium matches take longer to complete due to the multi-round format, which makes Quick Play the quickest way to progress the event.

In addition to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 challenges, which unlock in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively, Blizzard has also added Meta challenges. These special quests take much longer to complete but grant significantly higher event pass progression.

Grand Messa Challenge Rewards

All challenges grant 50-150 event pass points. As you rank up the pass, you can earn the following items:

  • 1 x Epic Lootbox
  • 1 x Legendary Lootbox
  • 1 x Rare Title
  • 2 x Sierra Voicelines
  • 1 x Sierra Avatar
  • 1 x Serra Namecard

Overwatch 10th Anniversary Event Rewards

Operation: Grand Mesa is just one of many events players can expect during Overwatch’s 10th anniversary. Junkrat’s Loot Hunt returns on May 8, which will grant players access to free lootboxes.

Blizzard is also planning a special midseason event for the anniversary. Previous anniversary events introduced special, limited-time cosmetics and XP boosts. With the game rebranding itself from Overwatch 2 to Overwatch, it is also reverting its anniversary date to May 24, 2026, to match the original game.

The mid-season update will also introduce a Mythic skin for Ana and a Diablo collaboration shop takeover, featuring a new skin for Ramattra and other heroes. The final week of the season (June 9 to 16) will have the usual weekend Drives event, where players can earn Competitive Points for weapon cosmetics and an animated profile banner cosmetic.
