Two years after its initial soft launch, Cyprus-based developer Top App Games has a certified mobile hit on its hands. The studio's flagship strategy RPG, Ludus: Merge Arena, has officially surpassed $50 million USD in net revenue, generated from an impressive $66M in total gross revenue. This breakout commercial milestone highlights the title's rapid ascent in the competitive mobile market, fueled by a massive global community of more than 11M players who have jumped into the arena since release.

The game’s journey from a quiet soft launch to a global juggernaut has been defined by steady, snowballing momentum. When Ludus: Merge Arena first arrived two years ago, it relied on word-of-mouth and early gameplay tweaks to build its audience. By late 2024, industry figures showed the title had crossed 3M downloads and was generating roughly $2M in average monthly revenue.

Hitting the current $50M net revenue mark proves that Top App Games has cracked the code on scaling a mobile audience while keeping daily players engaged and invested for the long haul. Rather than resting on its initial success, the developers continuously expanded the core merge-and-battle mechanics to give players deeper strategic choices.

Ludus: Merge Arena originally entered the market with a modest roster of just 25 heroes, but Top App Games has steadily quadrupled that lineup to over 100 playable characters today. Each hero can now be built, customized, and deployed in multiple ways, raising the stakes in competitive matches, as per Pocketgamer.biz.

Daily Players as Community Co-Builders

To keep pace with its growing community, the studio regularly rolled out major gameplay features designed to expand choice and competition. These additions include structured Divisions for high-level ranked play, guild-based Clan Wars, Hero Perks, and dynamic in-game spells. Top App Games has also leveraged high-profile brand partnerships to keep the experience fresh, recently teaming up with Corvus Belli to bring characters from the Warcrow fantasy universe directly into the arena.

According to studio leadership, the true secret behind the game's two-year evolution is the community itself. Vladimir Markov, Chief Executive Officer and Studio Head at Top App Games, credited daily players as the co-builders of the experience, noting that almost every major competitive feature was born from watching how the audience naturally wanted to play.

"We soft launched with 25 heroes, and we always knew the game would find its real shape in players’ hands," Markov said in a public statement. "Two years and more than 100 heroes later, the people who play every day are the ones who built this game with us. Almost every system we have added started with watching how they wanted to compete."

The runaway success of Ludus: Merge Arena is a major victory for a relatively young studio. Founded in Cyprus in 2024, Top App Games specializes in mobile strategy titles that blend real-time competitive combat with card-based role-playing mechanics. The studio operates under the Utmost Games holding company, which is led by Vladimir Nikolsky and maintains broad gaming interests across mobile, PC, and console developers.

With millions in lifetime revenue and a thriving global player base of over 11 million, Ludus: Merge Arena has officially graduated from a promising underdog to an established live-service hit. Top App Games confirmed it will use this financial success and the operational lessons learned from its flagship title to fund more ambitious global projects and drive further studio expansion in the near future.
