Highlights

  • A new FIFA football game will launch exclusively on Netflix Games this summer, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
  • The Netflix Games FIFA release will be free for subscribers and streamed to televisions, with mobile phones used as controllers.
  • The launch follows FIFA’s split from EA Sports and aligns with peak global interest around World Cup 2026.

A partnership between FIFA and Netflix Games has been announced, confirming a newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game launching exclusively on Netflix Games this summer. Developed and published by Delphi Interactive, the title will release ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America and will be available free to Netflix subscribers.

The game will be streamed through the Netflix app on televisions, with smartphones used as controllers. Netflix said the title will support solo play and online matches with friends, and will join its growing lineup of games playable directly on TVs alongside shows and movies.

Netflix Games President Alain Tascan linked the launch to the scale of the tournament, saying, “The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms,” adding that Netflix aims to “bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”

FIFA Game Launch Follows Split From EA Sports

The announcement follows FIFA’s split from EA Sports in 2023, ending a nearly 30-year partnership after FIFA 23, the final EA-developed title, before the series was rebranded as EA Sports FC (EAFC).

FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, had previously stated that the organization planned to launch a new FIFA game with a different partner. Infantino called the Netflix collaboration “a key milestone in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the football gaming space,” adding that the reimagined title aims to reach fans of all ages worldwide.

Development is being led by California-based Delphi Interactive, a relatively small studio that has not released a standalone title but has contributed to projects including IO Interactive’s upcoming 007 First Light

Founder and CEO Casper Daugaard said the goal is to make FIFA “the most fun, approachable, and global football game ever created.”

Delphi Interactive President Andy Kleinman said the team is building a game “that anyone, anywhere, can pick up and instantly feel the magic of football.”

With the World Cup approaching, the FIFA game’s release on Netflix Games aligns with heightened global attention around football, reflecting a shift toward platform-driven titles designed for reach and accessibility.
