Gurugram is officially stepping into the global pop culture spotlight. NODWIN Gaming has announced the launch of the first-ever Gurugram Comic Con, scheduled for Mar 14-15, 2026. The debut event will transform the Gymkhana Club ground in Sector 29 into a massive playground for fans of comics, anime, gaming, and cosplay, marking a major expansion of the festival within the National Capital Region. Presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena and powered by Crunchyroll, the festival aims to provide the city's massive fan base with a homegrown alternative to the traditional Delhi editions.
For years, Gurugram residents, comprising tech professionals, startup employees, and students, have crossed the border to attend these events. Now, they will have a dedicated local space to celebrate their favorite fandoms right in their backyard.
The decision to bring the event to the "Millennium City" stems from its unique, high-energy cultural identity. Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India, noted that while fandom often thrives quietly in Gurugram’s apartments, Discord servers, and weekend mall meetups, the event is designed to bring that hidden energy into a shared physical space. She emphasized that the festival is about building something that truly belongs to the people who call Gurugram home.
Homegrown Pop Culture
Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, highlighted that Gurugram is the company's home city. He observed that local fans are already deeply involved in the scene as cosplayers and creators. By hosting the event locally, organizers hope to provide a familiar and accessible spot for the community to unwind after a high-octane work week in the city’s bustling office hubs and startups.
Now in its 13th year, Comic Con India has become a vital bridge between international powerhouses like DC and Marvel and India’s own emerging creators. The Gurugram edition will feature massive gaming arenas, specialized manga zones, and exclusive merchandise stalls. Fans can also look forward to celebrity meet-and-greets, panel discussions, and signature cosplay showcases that put a national spotlight on creative talent.
The weekend will be rounded out with a festival atmosphere featuring live music, dance performances, and stand-up comedy. For those ready to join the celebration, tickets have officially gone live and are available exclusively on the District app by Zomato.
