Indian video game developers are finally getting the global spotlight they deserve. On Monday, June 8, a curated lineup of 40 Indian indie games will premiere worldwide during the first-ever India Games Showcase. Partnering with the massive Summer Game Fest, this new digital broadcast, hosted by NODWIN Gaming and Nodding Heads Games, aims to bring the country's next generation of creative game makers directly to players everywhere.

For years, developers across India have been quietly crafting original, deeply cultural, and wildly creative experiences. However, many independent studios have struggled with the massive challenge of breaking out of their home market to reach international players. The India Games Showcase was built on the simple, powerful belief that great games deserve to be seen.

By aligning with Geoff Keighley's annual Summer Game Fest, one of the biggest weekends in the global gaming calendar, Indian studios are unlocking unprecedented visibility. To ensure these games instantly connect with players, a dedicated Steam event will accompany the broadcast, making it seamless for fans to discover, follow, and wishlist the newly revealed titles.

Spearheaded by the Creators of 'Raji: An Ancient Epic'

The initiative is being proudly spearheaded by Nodding Heads Games, the very studio that helped put Indian game development on the map with their hit title Raji: An Ancient Epic. Their breakout game marked a turning point for the region, becoming the first Indian game to be nominated at The Game Awards for Best Debut Game. Avichal Singh, Co-founder and Game Director at Nodding Heads, noted that this new showcase proves Indian indies are making massive international strides, fueled by a promising rise in game quality and genre variety.

Adding to this sentiment, NODWIN Gaming Co-founder and Managing Director Akshat Rathee emphasized the raw, untapped creative energy currently brewing in India's indie ecosystem. He noted in a press release that developers are blending world-class mechanics with incredibly rich, localized storytelling that the global gaming community simply hasn't experienced before. Rathee shared his vision of ensuring that a brilliant game built in India doesn't remain a local secret, but instead gets the worldwide distribution, eyeballs, and recognition it has rightfully earned.

First Look at the Unique Participating Titles

Ahead of the main event, the organizers have teased a few of the 40 unique titles ready to make a splash during the showcase. Players can look forward to rich narrative experiences like Raahi by Kalp, which lets you cruise through the heart of 1990s Goa as an auto-rickshaw driver collecting memories and secrets from passengers. Puzzle fans can jump into Dodo Duckie by BornMonkie, a charming dimension-swapping adventure where a heroic duck flips between 2D and 3D to save kidnapped chicken friends.

For those seeking a darker thrill, Rakshasa by Odd Compass Studio offers brutal combat against terrifying demons in a dark mythological nightmare inspired by Indian folklore. Rounding out the early reveals are Loop: Beginning Of Never Ending Journey by Pravin Nikam, a surreal 2.5D mystery about an amnesiac boy in a dreamlike world, and Silkgrove by Gallic Entertainment, which blends cozy village building with a beautifully handcrafted survival adventure.

Entirely supported by a passionate volunteer community of local game developers dedicating their time to advancing the country's gaming ecosystem, the India Games Showcase is shaping up to be a landmark moment for the region. Gamers around the world can tune into the broadcast on YouTube and Twitch on June 8 at 10:00 AM PT and 10:30 PM IST.
