Roblox has introduced two new creator initiatives, Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart. These programs aim to help developers build and scale new types of games on the platform. The programs, announced March 9, 2026, target both new and experienced Roblox creators.
Roblox said the initiatives aim to help developers explore new genres and develop viable games. Applications for both programs are now open, with Jumpstart accepting submissions on a rolling basis.
Roblox currently reports 144M daily active users. Among users who have completed an age check, 27% are over 18. Within this group, the 18-34 user segment in the U.S. is growing more than 50% year-over-year (YoY), according to the company.
Meanwhile, Roblox stated that the changing audience profile is creating demand for different types of experiences beyond traditional games.
Roblox Incubator and Jumpstart Aim to Expand Game Creation
The Roblox Incubator program is structured as a six-month, milestone-based initiative that will work with up to 40 teams per cohort. It targets experienced development teams with strong prototypes who want to turn early concepts into polished and scalable games.
Participants will receive mentorship from Roblox subject matter experts, along with support in building audiences and marketing their projects. The company is seeking projects that introduce new genres or blend established mechanics with Roblox’s social systems and cross-platform play.
However, the Roblox Jumpstart program is designed for developers who are new to the platform or exploring different ideas. Applications will remain open continuously, with early game pitches scheduled to begin at the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
Jumpstart teams will also receive guidance from Roblox experts and support with user acquisition across and beyond the platform.
“The creativity of Roblox developers has always amazed us,” said Vlad Loktev, chief creator ecosystem officer at Roblox. He added that Roblox aims to be a platform for all ages and is encouraging creators to build the next generation of experiences.
Roblox stated it will continue scouting early-stage games across the platform. The company plans to support promising titles using its creation tools, analytics systems, and discovery features to help them reach players.
