Mobile game publisher Scopely has surpassed $15 billion USD in lifetime revenue, marking a major milestone in mobile gaming revenue. The achievement comes as the company begins a year-long celebration marking its 15th anniversary.
The company reported that its games have collectively generated more than 150B hours of playtime, equivalent to over 16M years of gameplay. The portfolio has also surpassed 2B lifetime downloads. Hundreds of millions of players engage with its games every year, reflecting sustained global reach across its portfolio.
Scopely said the milestone reflects player trust, adding it is “not defined by revenue or downloads,” but by the billions of players who spend time with its games.
How Scopely Hit $15 Billion in Revenue
The Scopely lifetime revenue milestone follows the company’s founding in 2011. At the time, a small team began developing games from an office above the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.
Since then, the company has expanded into a global organization with more than 3K employees across four continents and over 30 countries. Scopely says it has broadened its portfolio through more than 10 acquisitions of development teams and games. The company has also expanded across genres, platforms, and international markets.
The company reports that its portfolio now includes six game franchises that have each generated more than $1B in revenue. Six titles have remained live for over a decade.
Its first title, Dice With Buddies, also marks 15 years of operation.
Scopely stated that more than 55% of players engage with its games every day of the week. The figure reflects the engagement model behind Scopely’s mobile games revenue milestone.
