Tathvamasi Studios, a Bengaluru-based gaming studio, has opened pre-orders for SURI: The Seventh Note, its debut rhythm-action platformer. The game was developed with the support of the PlayStation India Hero Project.
The title is scheduled to release on PS5 and PC via Steam on Oct 30, 2026, alongside a new gameplay trailer published through the official PlayStation and Tathvamasi channels.
A Story Driven by Rhythm and Choice
The game follows Ajira, who races to find a magical fruit that could save her mother from a “dark sickness.” Her search leads to an island affected by a corrupting rhythm, where players must use the beat to fight the force while navigating an environment that changes with each note.
The Standard Edition costs $19.99 USD, while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $24.99. Both receive a 20% PS5 pre-order discount. The Deluxe Edition adds the exclusive Chandini Skin, entitlement to upcoming DLC, and a three-day early access starting Oct 27.
The skin will not be sold separately.
Rhythm Haptics and Indian-Inspired Design
Tathvamasi's Rhythm Haptics Engine converts the game's music into audio, visual, and tactile feedback through the PS5 DualSense controller. The PC also supports haptics, while the PS5 version receives further enhancements.
The game's artistic direction draws from Rajput forts and Theyyam culture.
Tathvamasi Studios CEO and Game Director, Glen Martin, stated that SURI took nearly three years to move from an idea to a completed PS5 and PC game. He added, “It’s our first game, and we wouldn’t be here without the gracious support of PlayStation India Hero Project.”
The studio is encouraging players to wishlist or pre-order the game as direct support for its independent development.
Visually, SURI: The Seventh Note blends the structure of a 2D platformer with rhythm-driven combat and exploration. Its beat-based mechanics and Indian-inspired art direction could give it a distinct identity among contemporary rhythm-action games. However, with several games exploring similar ideas and storylines, its challenge will be standing out and attracting players.
