  • Yodo1 says in-game collaborations are up 280% since 2020.

China-based mobile publisher Yodo1 has rolled out IPVerse, a new data-and-artificial intelligence (AI)-driven platform aimed at helping game developers and intellectual property (IP) holders make more informed in-game licensing decisions. The free service was unveiled at ChinaJoy 2025.

IPVerse aggregates data from more than 80K in-game events, covering around 20K brands and IPs, and over 15K game titles across mobile, PC, and console. It also includes specialized datasets focused on the Chinese market, which Yodo1 says are essential for understanding the behaviour of regional players.

Yodo1 estimates that in-game collaborations have risen by 280% since 2020, but notes that many partnerships have underperformed due to weak IP fit. The company warns that poorly chosen tie-ins can negatively affect player growth and long-term retention rather than improve engagement.

How IPVerse Uses Data to Improve Gaming IP Licensing

“Yodo1 has created IPVerse to streamline the highly fragmented process of identifying valuable in-game collaborations,” said Eliyar Eziz, product lead at Yodo1 Games. He added that studios have often relied on intuition and incomplete data when evaluating licensing opportunities.

The platform provides AI-powered IP rankings, game-specific matchmaking tools, and global insights drawn from tens of thousands of industry events. According to Yodo1, future updates to its IPverse platform will include Agent Y, an automated tool designed to generate IP collaboration proposals.

Established in 2011, Yodo1 secured a total of $18 million USD in funding from seed to Series B within its first two years of operation. The company later drew industry scrutiny in 2019 when CEO and co-founder Henry Fong revealed that an individual player had spent $150K in Transformers: Earth Wars, prompting renewed debate over monetization practices and data usage in mobile gaming.

With IP-driven collaborations now widely adopted as a growth lever, IPVerse reflects Yodo1’s longer-term shift toward structured, data-led approaches to game publishing and partnership strategy.
