Highlights

  • BTS reclaimed Billboard’s Global Excl. US No.1 with Swim as ARIRANG endures on the Billboard 200.
  • Jungkook hit 300 million Spotify streams with My Time, setting another major solo benchmark.
  • BTS’ solo successes boost the group’s global entertainment brand power.

BTS continues its chart momentum on Billboard with Swim, the lead song from ARIRANG. According to recent chart data from Billboard, the song has officially rebounded to the No.1 spot on the Global Excl. US chart, after a mild one-week dip in between.

The album itself holds steady at the topmost tier of Billboard 200 with its No.7 rank, marking nearly two months of uninterrupted presence within the top ten. ARIRANG, at its peak, had sat atop the chart for three non-consecutive weeks. Although Swim retains its position at No.2 on the Global 200, the song has climbed back to No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart.

Jungkook’s My Time Crosses 300M Spotify Streams Amidst ARIRANG’s Billboard Success

Alongside BTS’ overall success, group member Jungkook has achieved a new milestone as well. According to Star News Korea, the “Golden Maknae” of BTS has gained 300 million streams on Spotify owing to his track My Time, also known as Time Difference. It is not just another stat update, but rather showcases Jungkook’s artistic merit and social popularity, as it marks his 10th solo song to cross the threshold.

My Time’s endurance is particularly remarkable. The song, which was released in 2020 as a part of Map of the Soul: 7, has remained a commercial juggernaut. Co-written and co-composed by Jungkook, the song is the first solo song from a collective BTS album to peak at the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, marking an 85-week run.

The track’s reach is truly global as it ranked No. 84 on the Hot 100, setting a high benchmark for individual ventures in a group effort. The song had also topped the iTunes charts in 106 countries while moving 100,000 units in the United States within just 57 days. This marked a record-making pace for a solo K-pop venture. By 2023, the song earned a RIAA Gold certificate with Beyoncé reportedly praising the song publicly. Additionally, Jungkook’s total Spotify streams hit 10.9 billion streams.

BTS Turns Solo Success Into Global Brand Power

Today, as Jungkook’s solo footprint has increased, it reveals a unique trajectory for BTS. The group has grown from a simple musical act into a massive global brand. By holding steady in both solo and group ventures, BTS has turned towards strategic expansion, guaranteeing that its brand value remains the strongest in the entertainment industry.
