BTS’ Jungkook & Jimin Dominate Spotify with Solo Hits

From streaming to charts, BTS members Jungkook and Jimin showcase how K-pop singers are now shaping the music industry worldwide as solo stars.

  • Jungkook’s Seven broke multiple Spotify records, highlighting his global appeal.
  • Jimin also set a 6.5B streaming mark on Spotify, proving K-pop sector’s solo power.
  • Their success shows that BTS members can thrive independently while also expanding the group's global reach.

Jungkook and Jimin, two members of the K-pop band BTS, have broken streaming records with their solo releases, extending Korean pop's international appeal beyond its collective dynamic. Jungkook's blockbuster single Seven (feat. Latto) has continued to gain huge traction since its release in 2023, exceeding 2.76 billion plays on the platform as of Sunday (Jan 25, 2026). The song is currently at No. 69 on Spotify by cumulative streams. Previously, it received 2.5B streams on Spotify in Aug 2025, setting a record for any Korean artist on the platform.

Jungkook’s Seven Emerges as One of K-pop’s Biggest Global Streaming Hits

Seven not only topped Spotify's year-end 2023 most-streamed list, but also broke several Guinness World Records. It became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach 1B streams, doing so in just 108-109 days, defeating previous record holders such as Miley Cyrus's Flowers. With approximately 90 million streams, the single is also the most played male track in a single week around the world.

Furthermore, as reported by KBS World Radio on Jan 15, 2026, Seven's audio clip topped 100M YouTube plays, with both the clean and explicit versions reaching the mark. Jungkook's four other tracks, Standing Next to You, Still With You, Euphoria, and Dreamers, also achieved this success, thus making him the first Asian artist with six songs having over 100M plays.

Beyond individual streaming stats, Jungkook's solo catalog has surpassed 9.4B total streams by 2025, noted KED Global. Also, his debut solo album GOLDEN recently topped 6.2B Spotify streams in Oct 2025, making it the most-streamed solo Asian album. Other tracks from the album, like, Standing Next to You and 3D (feat. Jack Harlow), also surpassed 1B streams individually, indicating broad, persistent listener engagement over many songs on the platform.

BTS’ Jimin Converts Solo Releases Into Sustained U.S. and Global Streams

Jimin also delivers a stunning solo performance. With over 6.5B total Spotify streams, he became the first solo K-pop artist to do so. His second album, MUSE, and its lead track Who, have been crucial drivers of his success, with Who alone receiving over 2.25B plays (as of Jan 24, 2026), including significant U.S. listenership, with over 450M streams, the most for any K-pop solo music in that market.

Notably, Who also spent 33 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, while Like Crazy, his first solo release from the album FACE, made history by entering at No. 1 on the same chart and has since accumulated about 1.5B streams. Currently, FACE is streaming at a pace that exceeds 2.69B plays on Spotify, with MUSE hitting a major 3.7B streaming milestone, marking the fastest success achieved by any Korean albums.

Jimin, like his younger teammate Jungkook, had also previously set a Guinness World Record for the fastest solo K-pop artist to reach 1B streams. As reported by Star News Korea, the artist’s Spotify personal profile depicts that his 6.5B streams milestone success is driven by 22 pure solo songs, with no collaborations involved. This essentially means that more than 80% of his total streams come from these songs alone, which showcases his distinct musical power and chart strength. Additionally, when collaborative releases of the BTS members are considered, his total streaming count across 34 tracks jumps to 7.94B, with the number likely to exceed the 8B threshold.

Taken together, Jungkook and Jimin's individual streaming successes are more of an extension of BTS' dominance than a departure from it. The level and geographic range of their fan base indicate that BTS' individual members now function as autonomous global pop franchises capable of maintaining Western chart pressure, U.S. streaming depth, and long-lasting engagement on their own. The implications for the global music industry are evident through their milestones. It demonstrates how K-pop's center of gravity is no longer limited to groups, but is increasingly molded by single stars functioning on a blockbuster scale.
