Crunchyroll has unveiled its programming slate for the upcoming Anime NYC 2026 event, outlining a mix of programs during the convention. The event, which runs from Aug 20-23, 2026, at Javits Convention Center, will bring anniversary celebrations, premiere screenings, and creator-led panels from the Sony subsidiary.
The lineup includes celebrations for three anniversary events, exclusive anime screenings, cast and staff appearances, alongside two mystery premiere events featuring upcoming anime series. Among the anniversary events, one centers on the 15th anniversary of Crunchyroll News, bringing its editorial team on stage to discuss the publication’s evolution.
Crunchyroll Celebrates Major Franchise Anniversaries at Anime NYC
The convention schedule places milestone celebrations at the center of Crunchyroll’s programming. Two hit anime franchises from the 2010s, Bungo Stray Dogs and Re: Zero, will mark a decade-long run at Anime NYC 2026.

The Bungo Stray Dogs panel will bring producer Chiaki Kurakane and Atsushi’s voice actor, Yuto Uemura. The panel carries weight since the franchise has not revealed anything regarding the production of the sixth season, following the finale of season 5 in September 2023.
On the other hand, one of the genre-defining isekai franchises, Re: Zero, will bring a live music concert, voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi, and its music artist to the panel. All three events focus on celebrating milestones, reflecting Crunchyroll’s increasing emphasis on celebrating established franchises alongside promoting upcoming releases.
Screenings and Creator Panels Round Up Crunchyroll’s Schedule
Beyond anniversary events, Crunchyroll’s lineup includes creator discussions, exclusive screenings, and preview events spread across the weekend. Magical Buffs, which was unveiled at Anime Expo 2026 earlier this month, will have its world premiere on August 22 as a part of Crunchyroll’s screening events.
Crunchyroll confirmed that the unnamed anime titles included in Premiere Screening 1 and Premiere Screening 2 will be revealed as Anime NYC 2026 comes closer. Both sessions are reported to showcase multiple upcoming anime series before they arrive on the streaming platform.
