  • Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA FINALE has been officially confirmed for a 2027 release.
  • The final anime will continue the story after Licht Nameless Girl, with SILVER LINK returning alongside key staff, including Shin Onuma.
  • KADOKAWA unveiled a new teaser visual featuring Illya, Miyu, and Chloe.

KADOKAWA has confirmed the title and premiere window for the anime that will end the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya franchise, titled Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA FINALE. After nearly five years of silence following the announcement of the sequel, Fate/kaleid liner’s official X channel announced on July 20 that the anime will be released in 2027.

The announcement arrived with a second teaser visual illustrated by character designer Kazuya Hirata. The image shows protagonists Illya and Miyu holding their magical wands and facing forward, while Chloe looks on with a gentle smile as light breaks through a dim sky.

As its name signals, KADOKAWA has described ILLYA FINALE as the concluding chapter of the PRISMA ILLYA franchise. The franchise began in 2013 and has since spanned four television seasons, two theatrical films, and an original video anime.

Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA FINALE project was first announced after Licht Nameless Girl premiered in Japanese theaters in August 2021. Monday’s reveal not only provides the long-awaited release window but also confirms that the finale will be produced as a television series rather than another theatrical feature.

Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA FINALE picks up After Licht Nameless Girl

PRISMA ILLYA FINALE continues directly after the events of Licht Nameless Girl, following Pandora, Illya, Miyu, and Chloe. Shin Onuma, the director of the series, stated in the press release that the production team is closely working with franchise creator Hiroshi Hiroyama. He also reiterated that there are parts of the manga that he would like to expand upon.

Production again falls to SILVER LINK, the studio behind every prior Prisma Illya anime installment. Onuma returns to direct, while Ken Takahashi steps into a newly created series director role.

Writers Kenji Inoue and Hazuki Minase will handle the scripts, and Hirata continues as character designer. KADOKAWA said the principal cast will reprise their roles from earlier installments, though individual casting has not been announced.

Mai Kadowaki will take on the role of Illyasviel von Einzbern, with Kaori Nazuka reprising his role as Miyu Edelfelt. Chiwa Saito will take up Chloe von Einzbern’s role, while Sumire Morohoshi voices Pandora. Natsuki Hanae and Katsuyuki Konishi voice Julian Ainsworth and Darius Ainsworth, respectively.

With PRISMA ILLYA FINALE, the anime adaptation is set to close a story that began with Hiroshi Hiroyama’s manga in 2007 under TYPE-MOON’s supervision. No streaming or international distribution partner has been announced, and further details are expected in future updates.
