  • New details for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 are expected at the AnimeJapan 2026 panel on March 28.

The wait didn't last long. Almost exactly as the dust settled on yesterday's massive Season 3 finale, Studio MAPPA and Toho Animation dropped the news fans were hoping for: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is officially happening. Titled Culling Game Arc Part 2, the upcoming season promises to throw viewers right back into the middle of Kenjaku's brutal battle royale. This exciting update guarantees the deadly tournament is far from over, giving fans a lot to look forward to after a tense cliffhanger.

Season 3 was one of the most hyped anime releases of 2026, and it certainly delivered. After a phenomenal run that started in January, the season wrapped up its first cour on March 26 with a specially extended, 27-minute episode. Titled "Sendai Colony," the finale is already being hailed as a potential episode of the year.

It gave fans an absolutely incredible, visually stunning clash that saw Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu go all out against ancient reincarnated fighters Takako Uro and Ryu Ishigori. The fight solidified exactly why Yuta is considered second only to Satoru Gojo, but it also left heavy unresolved threats hanging over the rest of the cast as the credits rolled.

While the announcement of Season 4 has the community buzzing, the actual release date is still a mystery, and fans might need to practice some patience as industry reports suggest we won't see new episodes anytime soon.

The time slots on Japanese TV when Jujutsu Kaisen usually aired are completely booked up through the rest of the year. Due to which reports are pointing to January 2027 as the earliest possible premiere window, as per GameRant.

Keep Your Eyes on AnimeJapan 2026

Fortunately, we might not be left in the dark for very long. The massive AnimeJapan 2026 convention is happening this weekend, and Jujutsu Kaisen is hosting a Red Stage panel tomorrow, March 28, at 14:55 JST. This stage event is the perfect opportunity for MAPPA to reveal key visuals, new details, or even a concrete release window for the upcoming season, so fans will definitely want to keep their eyes peeled.

Whenever the anime does return, the story is gearing up for its most intense fights yet. The Culling Game is the longest arc in Gege Akutami’s manga, spanning from chapter 159 through 221. As the new season kicks off, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro might briefly take a backseat to let other characters shine.

The upcoming episodes will heavily feature the unrestrained power of Special Grade sorcerers and fan favorites like Kinji Hakari and Maki Zen'in as they battle across the massive barrier colonies.

With the ultimate goals of saving Megumi's sister, unsealing Satoru Gojo, and stopping Kenjaku, the stakes have literally never been higher. Until then, fans can catch up on the explosive Sendai Colony battle and the rest of the series over on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
