One Piece Film: God Valley Joins a Crowded 2027 Lineup
The live-action casting was part of a larger ONE PIECE DAY ’26 presentation. The World Top 100 character poll received 13,086,239 votes across 1,567 characters, with Monkey D. Luffy taking first place ahead of Roronoa Zoro and Sanji.
Creator Eiichiro Oda will design special outfit illustrations for the top 30 characters, which will appear in the anime, One Piece Card Game, and merchandise.
Toei Animation also announced ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY for summer 2027 in Japan and ONE PIECE FILM BAAD for 2029. God Valley will adapt the God Valley Incident from the Elbaph Arc, covering the conflict involving Rocks D. Xebec, the island’s destruction, and its sinking into the sea.
Further details about Baad have not been revealed, and global release dates for both films remain unconfirmed.
The live-action series debuted in August 2023 and drew more than 18M views during its first month. With Season 3's production complete and its Alabasta cast expanding, Netflix has confirmed 2027 but has yet to announce a specific premiere date.
The 2027 box office could become a major battleground for anime, with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 and One Piece Film God Valley both targeting the year. If their release windows overlap, the films could compete directly for audiences.
