  • The group was the first virtual artist to sell out the Gocheok Sky Dome and chart on the Billboard Global 200.

PLAVE, the virtual K-pop sensation, will officially return on April 7 with a much-anticipated new mini-album. The announcement comes barely four months after their record-breaking album PLBBUU, thus establishing the group as a major commercial giant from a humble digital project.

The five-member group, which includes Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho, and Hamin, is now concluding a release that industry insiders refer to as an "expanded narrative universe." Moving beyond traditional performance, the group's newest project mixes immersive technology with direct creative engagement from all five members, who are all credited with actively assisting with music, composition, dance, and conceptual design.

Virtual K-pop Band’s Million-Seller Milestones

PLAVE's momentum is reinforced by remarkable statistics. Their most recent single, PLBBUU, sold about 1.095 million copies in its first week, as reported by the Hanteo Music Chart. This milestone not only marked the group's biggest debut week yet, but it also set a new record for virtual idols, with the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) certifying the album triple platinum. PLBBUU additionally topped the Circle Album Chart, with the POCA edition debuting at number one and the standard version remaining in the top five.

This trend was previously established in 2025 with their third mini-album, Caligo Pt. 1, which saw PLAVE become the first virtual act to sell a million copies in seven days. Digitally, the album received 11 million streams on Melon within 24 hours, propelling the group into the service's "Billions Club."

PLAVE's Tour Breakthrough and Global Chart Impact

PLAVE's DASH - Quantum Leap Asia Tour solidified their prominence by becoming the first virtual act to sell out Seoul's 20,000-seat Gocheok Sky Dome. Global charts have responded to their popularity as well. Their title song DASH entered at No. 195 on the Billboard Global 200 in February 2025, while BBUU! was placed at No. 170 on the same chart, while also topping the Billboard Korean Hot 100.

PLAVE currently sits amongst the top ten 4th-generation K-pop boy groups internationally in terms of monthly Spotify listenership. Reportedly, the group has a listener base of around 1.15 million users. As they prepare for the April 7 debut, market observers believe PLAVE's success in cross-industry partnerships and international popularity signifies a permanent shift in K-pop economics. It showcases that digital-native talent can garner the same enthusiasm, as well as financial impact, as its human peers.
