- PVR INOX is set to bring two BTS Arirang concerts to India with live as well as encore screenings.
- The rise of experiential cinemas highlights how Gen Z and urban professionals are the main drivers of it.
- After the success of HYBE Cine Fest, PVR INOX’s current move aims to democratize concert screenings as a shared theatrical experience, giving a slice of the original feel.
India’s cinematic scenario is shifting towards a stadium-level energy as PVR INOX Limited, the nation’s largest multiplex chain, emphasizes the localized explosion of K-pop. PVR INOX has announced exclusive live and re-broadcast encore screenings of the BTS World Tour Arirang across more than 20 cities this April.
From Goyang to Tokyo to India: BTS Event Cinema Goes Live
The rollout will begin with a live viewing from Goyang on April 11, followed by a Tokyo broadcast on April 18. By treating global pop culture moments as key footfall drivers, the company is successfully repositioning theatrical passive viewing for event-driven experiences.
The geographical reach of the Arirang screenings in India reflects a broader push into both metropolitan hubs and emerging markets. The circuit spans Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, while including a vast secondary tier like Gurgaon, Faridabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Dehradun, and Bhubaneswar. The momentum will further continue through locations like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Pune, Nashik, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ranchi, Indore, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Raipur, reaching as far as Guwahati and Patna.

Data-Backed Demand Fuels K-pop Screenings
This move is backed by hard and proven data. PVR INOX had previously showcased BTS titles, such as Yet to Come in Cinemas and Burn the Stage, which reportedly delivered consistent sell-outs, thereby necessitating last-minute screen expansions. Furthermore, strong traction during the 2025 HYBE Cine Fest highlighted the commercial viability of fandom-driven content. Aamer Bijli, Lead Specialist for Innovation, Film Marketing, and Digital Programming at PVR INOX, calls this a radical shift towards “experiential cinema.” He noted that the main demographic, which includes Gen Z and urban professionals, now prioritizes community-based, shared immersive events over standard film outings.
Fandom Economics Drive Premium, Repeat Viewing
The move showcases a clear industry signal that K-pop audiences are flowing in numbers. The company additionally reports an increase in group bookings and premium format uptake, with fans treating such concert screenings as fandom celebrations. By incorporating large-format screens and enhanced audio-visual setups, PVR INOX intends to thrive on a repeat-demand cycle based on high-fidelity immersion. As for the BTS ARMY in India, the initiative effectively standardizes the concert experience, converting a rare stadium ticket into a scalable, nationwide event.
