The deal designates OnePlus as the official device provider for GodLike's Battlegrounds Mobile India team. It also includes an endorsement arrangement with star player and content creator Jonathan "JONATHAN" Amaral
Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed. Representatives for both companies did not disclose the financial structure or duration of the partnership.
OnePlus to Seek GodLike Player Input on Device Design
GodLike's founder Chetan "Kronten" Chandgude said the partnership would provide players with improved hardware. Whether premium devices translate to measurable competitive advantages remains debated within the esports community, where factors including network latency and server performance often prove decisive.
JONATHAN said the arrangement aligned with his competitive goals, though he didn't specify how the relationship would differ from standard sponsorship deals common in esports.
The companies said they plan to create content and host events, activities typical of brand partnerships in the gaming space. JONATHAN will reportedly provide product feedback to OnePlus, though the company didn't detail how such input would be incorporated into device development.
Marcel Campos, a director at OnePlus India, said the company seeks to support India's gaming community. OnePlus competes with Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple in India's crowded smartphone market, where gaming performance has become a key marketing differentiator.
