Tencent Games has announced the launch of “Honor of Queens,” a women-only esports tournament debuting as part of the Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC) 2025 in Manila. According to the official announcement, the competition will run from Nov. 15-30, 2025.

The new tournament will operate alongside the KIC 2025 main event, during the open-bracket community event, KIC Mini Battle. By placing the women’s competition within the championship structure, Tencent signaled that gender-inclusive pathways are becoming a core part of its international mobile esports strategy.

Honor of Queens Tournament Format

The Honor of Queens tournament features Open Qualifiers and Playoff rounds hosted across two Manila venues. There will be two open qualifiers, dated Nov. 15-18 and Nov. 20-23, with a maximum of 64 teams.

The qualifiers at Shooting Gallery Hall feature a LAN format; using daily single-elimination brackets, the top team from each day advances in the playoff round. The qualifiers will facilitate the top eight teams to advance in the Playoffs, spanning three days, at Ayala Mall in Manila Bay.

The Playoffs will shift to best-of-three (BO3) matches for all games, including quarterfinals, semifinals, the Bronze match, and the grand finale, ensuring deeper competitive play once the bracket narrows.

Additionally, Tencent announced a ₱320,000 (~$5,400) prize pool, plus tokens, for the inaugural event. However, the breakdown among the top contenders is yet to be announced.

The tournament will also run concurrently with KIC 2025 broadcast programming, allowing for mixed-format coverage across YouTube and Twitch, and in-venue screens. Since the Honor of Queens is integrated into KIC, it will allow organizers to measure viewership interest and engagement across social channels to navigate the commercial success of future women-centric esports editions.
