Mobile MOBA title Honor of Kings has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest live audience at an esports event, drawing 62,196 fans to Beijing’s National Stadium on Nov. 8. The King Pro League (KPL) 2025 Grand Finals saw All Gamers (AG Super Play) defeat Wolves Esports 4-2, marking a major milestone for Tencent’s mobile title.

According to Guinness World Records, the attendance surpassed the previous record of 45,000 spectators set during the PES 2016 UEFA Euro event in Paris. Officials confirmed the new record during the halftime show at the Bird’s Nest, one of China’s most recognized sporting venues.

Honor of Kings marks 10 years with record-breaking KPL Finals

The achievement coincides with Honor of Kings’ upcoming 10th anniversary, marking nearly a decade since Tencent launched the game in China in 2015. It has become the highest-grossing mobile game of all time, earning over $13B in lifetime revenue, and expanded globally in 2024.

The KPL, now in its ninth year, serves as the top competitive league for Honor of Kings. Tickets for the Grand Finals sold out in 12 seconds, and 85% of buyers came from outside Beijing, showing the game’s strong nationwide following. AG Super Play secured its sixth consecutive KPL title, strengthening its dominance in the scene.

Following the KPL Finals, focus now moves to the 2025 Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC), which will feature leading international teams competing for a $1M prize pool. The top three KIC teams will qualify for December’s Honor of Kings Challenger Cup, an event that includes professional, women, and grassroots teams.

With League of Legends Worlds 2025 and IEM Chengdu also hosted in China over the same weekend, Honor of Kings’ record highlights its growing global impact and Tencent’s success in elevating mobile esports to arena-scale popularity.
