Highlights

  • Kiaraa marks a new chapter for KRAFTON India’s original BGMI characters.
  • Her arrival introduces a new experience for players on Erangel.
  • The character will also feature in BGMI’s upcoming festive content.

KRAFTON India has unveiled Kiaraa, the first original BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) character IP created entirely by its in-house art team in India. Kiaraa will arrive exclusively for Indian players with the BGMI 4.6 update on Oct 8, 2026.

The character will come with her own lore, a dedicated location on Erangel, and a content lineup built around her.

The character builds on Anamika, introduced in 2025 as KRAFTON India’s first in-house character. After years of relying largely on licensed franchises and celebrity collaborations, the company is now developing original characters with larger in-game identities.

What Does Kiaraa Bring to BGMI Players?

Kiaraa’s lore describes her as a mysterious figure who appears when betrayal, greed, and cowardice spread among Erangel’s warriors. Her arrival adds a Diwali-themed Indian bazaar, the second India-themed location in BGMI after the Stepwell.

The Bazaar is also the setting for Kiaraa’s test.

Players must locate four peacock-shaped lamps in the courtyard and activate their summon points before entering the Boss Fight Zone. Kiaraa attacks with her bow and rains arrows from above, with squad rewards available after the encounter.

Her peacock motif extends across the Kiaraa Nakshatra collection, featuring the Divine Peacock Glider, Kiaraa Nakshatra Set, Arrow Rain Emote, Divine Chariot Buggy, Divine Radiance SCAR-L, and Divine Edge Machete. Players can also access the Kiaraa Arena challenges, Kiaraa Exchange Center, and daily login rewards.

Meanwhile, the Diwali Prize Path will run from Oct 22 to Nov 15, 2026, across 20 levels, offering the Revel 01 Set and Diwali Gold Set.

How Far Could India-Built Characters Go in BGMI?

Shyam Deshpande, Art Director at KRAFTON India, stated that Kiaraa’s design was built around the peacock across its key elements. Likewise, Director of Marketing and Product Management, Srinjoy Das, said Kiaraa was designed as a character that exists within the game world, while confirming that more India-focused creations are planned for Diwali.

That direction reflects a wider shift in game development, where characters are increasingly being designed to interact with the worlds around them. Recent experiments using a simulated fruit fly brain in games such as Minecraft offer an extreme example of how developers are testing new ways to make in-game entities respond to their surroundings.

While those projects remain experimental, they show how game characters could become more responsive to their surroundings.

India’s gaming industry is also developing original IP, and Kiaraa represents an early move in that direction. Future India-created BGMI characters could take this concept further by becoming more deeply connected to their worlds and gameplay.
