  • CD Projekt Red teams with WeirdCo to launch a physical-only Cyberpunk: Trading Card Game, inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 and the Edgerunners animated series.
  • The Cyberpunk TCG features custom artwork from 20 artists and unique character variants, including Adam Smasher, V, Panam, Judy, and a free Lucy “Nova Rare” card for early sign-ups.
  • While gameplay details remain under wraps, early card previews like Mantis Blades and Kiroshi Optics suggest an authentic minimalist style.

Polish video game company CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR) popular first-person shooter (FPS) Cyberpunk 2077 IP is getting expanded to a trading card game. CDPR unveiled Cyberpunk: Trading Card Game (Cyberpunk: TCG) in collaboration with indie card-game studio, WeirdCo, on Dec 9, 2025.

The project aimed “to represent the core identity of Cyberpunk 2077,” which is closely based on the universe of Cyberpunk 2077 and its animated prequel Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The collaboration will bring “Night City” to the tabletop. No digital version has been announced as of this writing. WeirdCo will handle design and production, while CDPR provides franchise oversight.

According to the announcement, players will assemble “the ultimate edgerunner crew,” using characters, locations, gear, and other assets pulled from both Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners. CDPR’s Franchise Content Strategy Lead, Patrick Mills, highlighted that each card represents the essence of the particular character; therefore, the deck is reported to have “unique variants of characters” including Adam Smasher, Johnny, Panam, V, Judy, and the like.

The initial promotion promises a free Lucy (Lucyna Kushinada) “Nova Rare”card for those who sign up ahead of launch.

Vision Behind the CDPR and WeirdCo Partnership and Cyberpunk: TCG

The collaboration between CDPR and WeirdCo is positioned as a deliberate approach to translating the gritty, neon-soaked style and narrative of Cyberpunk that Mike Pondsmith envisioned in 1988. For the initial release, the partnership plans to present the characters that would be most natural for the lore to continue.

WeirdCo President, Elliot Cook, highlighted that, while some iconic characters like V and Johny will be in Set 1, they have “a few surprises” for players too. The cards use original custom artwork. Cook noted that the team worked with 20 select artists for Cyberpunk: TCG, including talented artists like Joshua Raphael, Vincenzo Riccardi, and Ito. He further added that the cards will represent the “beautiful yet tragic atmosphere” of the Cyberpunk franchise.

Although full card details remain under wraps, a few glimpsed card examples include an equipment card named ‘Mantis Blades,’ and another called ‘Kiroshi Optics.’ Both feature minimal text; just a numeric value in the corners and a short effect blurb. This stripped-down design contrasts with text-heavy games such as Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon Trading Card Game, and suggests a lean, visually focused gameplay style.

Neither of WeirdCo and CDPR revealed any details about the gameplay; however, WeirdCo’s CEO Louhan Wei showed excitement, noting he is looking forward “for players to see how we’ve adapted the themes of Cyberpunk.”

The specified release date wasn’t mentioned during the announcement. The Kickstarter for the TCG is slated to go live in 2026, with more details being revealed eventually.
