Garena has announced Palworld Online, a licensed mobile MMORPG based on Pocketpair's hit survival game. The title is in development for iOS and Android and is scheduled to launch in 2026. It follows the recent release of Palworld Version 1.0, marking another major expansion of the franchise.
Developed under an official licensing agreement with Pocketpair, Palworld Online introduces an original story instead of simply recreating the PC game. It also adds exclusive side stories and expands the game's lore through a shared MMO world. Players can capture, breed, and battle Pals while exploring an interconnected map with friends.
Cooperative progression, world bosses, settlement building, PvE, and PvP are all part of the experience. The game also features touch-optimized controls and optional one-tap inputs for mobile devices.
Palworld Franchise Continues to Grow
The announcement comes as the Palworld series continues to expand across multiple formats. The original game surpassed 500K peak concurrent players on Steam following the launch of Version 1.0. Pocketpair also launched the Palworld Official Card Game on July 30, 2026, further expanding the franchise beyond video games. Meanwhile, a separate Palworld Mobile project from Krafton remains in development after entering closed alpha testing in late 2025.
Speaking at ChinaJoy 2026, Pocketpair's head of publishing and communications, John Buckley, said the original Palworld spent about four and a half years in development as the team grew to roughly 90 employees.
President of Garena, Terry Zhao, stated that the studio is working closely with Pocketpair to preserve the "depth, immersion, and freedom" of the original game while adapting it for mobile. Pocketpair CEO, Takuro Mizobe, added that Garena's experience in global publishing and live operations made it a strong partner for the project.
More details, including the release timeline, will be announced later.
