Highlights

  • KRAFTON India has opened applications for the fourth KIGI cohort.
  • The latest cohort expands the incubator's approach to supporting Indian game developers.
  • The move builds on KIGI's progress across its previous three cohorts.

KRAFTON India is changing how its gaming incubator approaches developer support with the launch of the fourth KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) cohort. Applications opened on Sep 22, 2026, with eligibility now extending to games that have moved beyond the concept and early development stages.

For the first time, KIGI Cohort 4 will accept mobile games in beta or soft launch and PC games with a live Steam demo that has gained traction among players. Early-stage teams and concepts will remain eligible.

CEO of KRAFTON India, Sean Hyunil Sohn, said the company wants to support creators building for global audiences and strengthen India's position as a “global creative force in gaming.”

KIGI's Support for Indian Game Developers

Launched in 2023, KIGI provides Indian studios with financial assistance, expert mentorship, and access to global platforms.

Anuj Sahani, Head of the KRAFTON India Incubator Program, stated that KIGI will continue to support first-time developers and early-stage ideas. He added that the program will also back games that are further along, including titles that have started showing “strong early traction” with players.

The latest cohort builds on progress from earlier participants.

KIGI Cohort 1 studios have reached successful soft launches, while Cohort 2 teams continue development. Mumbai-based Singular Scheme's Frontier Paladin became the first PC game from the incubator, launching on Steam on April 24, 2026.

How Could KIGI Cohort 4 Change India's Game Development Pipeline?

KIGI announced Cohort 3 in April 2026 after receiving around 1K applications. The selected studios were EvolX Games, Ether Games, Xod Games Studio, and RedDevil Studio.

Cohort 4 could also change KIGI's role in India's game development pipeline. By considering projects with early player feedback, beta results, or Steam demo traction, the program can engage with developers at a more advanced stage of production.

That could make KIGI's support more relevant to games approaching wider release, where additional funding and industry guidance can influence further development, refinement, and market preparation.
