Persona 6 Physical Releases Confirmed for PS5 and Switch 2

Physical versions of Persona 6 are planned for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Nintendo Switch 2, according to an updated Japanese product description from Sega. However, Atlus has yet to reveal details about the editions, including their contents, release date, pricing, or packaging format.

What Do We Know About Persona 6 so Far?

The confirmation leaves one major question for Switch 2 owners: whether the game will ship on a standard cartridge or use a Game-Key Card. Sega has not disclosed the answer, while details about the PS5 package are also pending.

Persona 6 was announced on June 8, 2026, with Sega confirming Windows, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam versions. Nintendo Switch 2 is also part of the planned platform lineup.

The release date remains to be decided.

Sega described Persona 6 as an “all-new tale” set in a “never-before-seen locale.” The game is being developed by P-Studio at Atlus and will continue the franchise's combination of turn-based battles, school activities, relationships, dungeon exploration, and supernatural encounters.

Persona Enters its Next Release Cycle

The announcement follows a major milestone for the franchise, which has now sold more than 30M copies worldwide. Sega commemorated the achievement with a new illustration from character designer Shigenori Soejima.

Atlus is also preparing Persona 4 Revival, a remake of Persona 4 Golden, for Feb 18, 2027.

It will launch on Windows, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, PS5, and Steam. Sega's Japanese release plan lists a ¥9,900 (~$64.09 USD) Standard Edition, an ¥18,480 (~$119.63) Limited Box, a ¥13,640 (~$88.30) Digital Premium Edition, and a ¥11,880 (~$76.91) Digital Deluxe Edition. Only the PS5 version will receive a physical copy.

With Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 expanding the series across platforms, Atlus is broadening Persona's reach while keeping physical releases in the lineup.
