Highlights

  • Ubisoft launches Rainbow Six Mobile in India today, four days ahead of its global release.
  • Dedicated Mumbai servers ensure low-latency tactical gameplay for the country’s 500M+ mobile gamers.
  • The 5v5 shooter brings destructible environments and operator gadgets to challenge BGMI and Free Fire.

Indian mobile gamers are getting a massive head start today. Ubisoft is launching Rainbow Six Mobile in India on February 19, 2026, making it the first country in the world to gain access to the highly anticipated 5v5 tactical shooter. Arriving four full days before the global free-to-play release on February 23, the Indian rollout is officially set to begin at 7:30 PM IST.

To ensure a smooth debut for this massive player base, Ubisoft is actively prepping dedicated servers in Mumbai. Chirag "Tito" Morab, Graphic Technical Director at Ubisoft, expressed his enthusiasm for the regional launch, stating, “I’m really excited for the worldwide release of our game next week. We’re currently warming up our servers in Mumbai. To my fellow compatriots, welcome to Rainbow Six Mobile and see you in the game.”

While the Mumbai servers are warming up, early connections might temporarily route players through Singapore or the Middle East. This routing will still yield a stable, manageable 60 to 80 ms, which is more than sufficient for tactical play.

A Hardcore Challenger to BGMI & Free Fire

The arrival of Rainbow Six Mobile brings a fresh, hardcore challenger to an Indian esports arena currently dominated by battle royale giants. With KRAFTON's Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) holding strong and Garena's Free Fire Max sparking renewed interest since its return to esports in July 2025, the market is primed for competition. According to industry research from Niko Partners, India boasts an active mobile gaming audience of over 500 million people, providing Ubisoft with a massive platform.

Rebuilt from the ground up for touch controls after a rigorous four-year development cycle, Rainbow Six completely ditches chaotic looting circles and respawns. Instead, it demands tight team coordination, destructible environments, and specialized operator gadgets, where a single tactical mistake can cost the entire round.

While Indian players get to experience the operators and maps early, the competitive playing field will remain level for the rest of the world. Ubisoft confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile’s Ranked Mode will be taken offline until the worldwide launch. This ensures that the title’s competitive mode will go live globally at the exact same time, allowing all players to begin their grind on equal footing.

While the servers officially go live at 7:30 PM IST, players should be aware that global app store rollouts can sometimes take 24 to 48 hours to fully reflect across all devices. Those who have already pre-registered can also look forward to claiming exclusive cosmetic rewards upon their first login as they prepare to breach and clear.
