Highlights

  • Sandfall Interactive announces live concert in France for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, with consideration for international events beginning in 2026.

  • The move highlights the growing intersection of music and video games, expanding beyond gameplay into live entertainment and cultural events.

  • Similar initiatives include HoYoverse’s anniversary concerts for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, and Riot Games’ League of Legends music projects.

French developer Sandfall Interactive has announced plans for a live concert based on its upcoming title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The event, set to take place in France, will feature music from the game performed in a concert setting. The studio also indicated that international performances are under consideration for 2026, opening the possibility for audiences abroad to experience the title’s music as part of a live cultural showcase.

The concert announcement comes ahead of the game’s launch, highlighting the studio’s ambition to extend Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 beyond traditional video game experiences. The connection between video games and live music events has grown significantly in recent years, with publishers increasingly investing in full-scale productions that bring game soundtracks, popular virtual bands, and immersive performances to global audiences.

Video Games and Music: A Growing Connection

Sandfall Interactive’s project joins a growing landscape where the music and gaming industries intersect. Notably, HoYoverse has established anniversary concerts for its popular titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, through partnerships with the Shanghai Opera House Chorus, London Voices Choir, and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Hoyoverse recently partnered with Norwegian singer and songwriter Aurora for its 2025 anniversary.

Riot Games has also been a leader in this area with League of Legends music projects. The virtual K-pop group K/DA, made up of League of Legends characters voiced by real-world singers, has generated millions of views and streams worldwide since its 2018 debut single. Riot continues to produce music through projects such as True Damage and seasonal themes like Worlds Anthems, reinforcing the game’s global cultural reach.

The integration of music and video games reflects a wider trend in the entertainment industry, where franchises are expanding their identities through multiple cultural channels. Concerts allow developers to engage players in new ways, offering an opportunity to celebrate creativity while extending immersion beyond the screen.

From symphony halls to pop group performances, these events have also become important community touchpoints, attracting both gaming audiences and broader entertainment media attention. For developers, they present opportunities to diversify brand appeal, while for fans, they provide live experiences that complement the emotional and narrative elements of the games themselves.

With Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 concert debuting in France, the studio joins industry leaders in turning gaming soundtracks into standalone live experiences. If the international expansion moves forward in 2026, audiences worldwide may soon see another franchise bridging the gap between gaming and music.
