Shape of Dreams has surpassed 1M units sold worldwide, roughly four months after launch, marking a major commercial milestone for the indie roguelite. The title was developed by Lizard Smoothie, published by Neowiz, and released on Steam on Sep 11, 2025.

The game reached 500K sales within two weeks of launch and maintained its growth pace through the end of the year to cross the million-seller mark in early 2026.

Shape of Dreams Sales Highlight Strong Indie Performance

On Steam, Shape of Dreams currently holds a “ Very Positive” rating, based on over 6K user reviews. The game has also earned multiple industry accolades, including ‘Best Indie Game’ and ‘Best Developer’ at the 2025 Korea Game Awards, alongside additional honors as an indie release.

Neowiz and Lizard Smoothie acknowledged the milestone in a Steam post and reiterated their long-term plans for the title.

“Thanks to our fans worldwide, Shape of Dreams has established itself as a global hit IP,” a Neowiz representative said, adding that the publisher will continue supporting future content while leveraging its global publishing capabilities.

Post-launch updates have supported engagement. Lizard Smoothie’s first major December 2025 update introduced Steam Workshop support, new challenges, the hardcore challenge mode “Limbo,” and a hidden boss.

Both companies have confirmed additional updates as they continue expanding Shape of Dreams into a long-term global IP.
