Pokémon Champions India Series Opens Route to 2027 Worlds

India is joining the official Pokémon VGC circuit with the 2027 Pokémon Champions India Series. The new competition gives local players a dedicated route to the 2027 Pokémon World Championships in Singapore. Announced on Sep 18, 2026, the pathway will run through six online Global Challenges, a May 2027 Online Qualifier, and an offline Grand Finals in June.
The first stage begins with Global Challenge I from Sep 25-28, 2026, using Regulation M-C and Double Battles. In-game registration opened Sep 18, 2026.
Indian players must set their Pokémon Champions region to India to participate in the India Series.

Pokémon Champions India Series Qualification Explained
The six Global Challenges will be held across the 2027 season:
- Global Challenge I: Sep 25-28, 2026
- Global Challenge II: Oct 30-Nov 2, 2026
- Global Challenge III: December 2026
- Global Challenge IV: January 2027
- Global Challenge V: March 2027
- Global Challenge VI: April 2027
Dates and battle rules for the final four events are yet to be announced.
Players can compete in any or all six challenges, with the top 30 from each age division progressing from every event. The three divisions are Junior (born in or after 2015); Senior (born between 2011 and 2014); and Masters (born in or before 2010).
That creates 540 Online Qualifier places across the six competitions. Players under 13 must receive parental consent to register.
The May 2027 Online Qualifier will determine the competitors reaching the June Grand Finals. The number of players who will advance to the Grand Finals, along with the event’s date and location, will be announced later. Travel support will be provided to players who qualify for the offline final.

The new India Series gives Indian VGC players a structured progression from online competition to a national offline final and, for those who qualify, the global championship.
More importantly, it establishes a formal domestic pathway within Pokémon’s competitive ecosystem. This gives India’s player base a defined route to compete for a place at Worlds rather than relying solely on broader regional competition.
