Shift Up Signs Global Publishing Deal With Level Infinite

Shift Up, the South Korean studio behind Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, has partnered with Tencent’s global publishing label Level Infinite for its next title, Project Spirits. According to the publisher’s press release, Level Infinite will serve as the worldwide publisher for the new IP. Tencent subsidiary Yongxing Interactive will co-develop the project.

Project Spirits, previously referred to as Project Witches, has been in internal development. Early documentation lists it as a “subculture cross-platform title” based on the concept of “Eastern Fantasy.” The project is being developed on Shift Up’s Unreal Engine 5, targeting consoles, PC, and mobile.

What We Know About Project Spirits

Level Infinite describes Project Spirits as an action-focused, cross-platform title. While the publisher has not released gameplay details, the involvement of Yongxing Interactive, a Tencent unit known for its ACG-style game production, hints towards such worldbuilding.

The deal's arrival builds on Stellar Blade’s commercial momentum. The game’s early sales momentum elevated Shift Up’s profile globally, making the studio a valuable partner for major publishers looking to expand their footprint in the character-driven, visually stylized action-RPG space.

Additionally, it is not the first partnership between Shift Up and Level Infinite. Both previously published Goddess of Victory: Nikke, a globally successful title that generated $70M in its first month. With Project Spirits, both companies aim to achieve even greater success.
