Everything Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2026

Xbox Games Showcase 2026 was the most consequential Microsoft gaming event in years. A handful of genuine surprise announcements were made alongside the expected first-party lineup, including Clockwork Revolution and Gears of War: E-Day. 

Microsoft is also working on releasing a limited edition console to commemorate the Xbox brand’s 25th anniversary. The console will be available in select markets only. Here is a quick overview of everything that was announced at Summer Games Fest’s Xbox Games Showcase. 

All Xbox Games Showcase Announcements

Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition and Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition

Release Date: November 2026 (select markets)

To mark Xbox's 25th anniversary, Microsoft announced a translucent limited-edition Series X console and matching controller. The design draws directly from the original Xbox hardware, with a translucent OG Green finish and controller details honoring the original Duke, including bumpers referencing the black and white buttons. The controller will also be available separately.

Gears of War: E-Day (Xbox Exclusive)

Release Date: October 6, 2026

The Coalition's prequel to the original Gears of War depicts E-Day, the moment the Locust emerged and the world fell. The gameplay demo dropped players into the chaos alongside Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. The game was confirmed as a permanent Xbox console exclusive with an open beta beginning August 6 for those who pre-order.

Fable

Release Date: February 23, 2027 (Early Access February 18)

Playground Games introduced Isabel, the Hero of Wraithmarsh, played by Hayley Atwell. A former pupil of Guildmaster Humphry the Golden, Isabel is described as a powerful Hero driven to darkness. The trailer also teased the return of Jack of Blades from the original Fable. 

Halo: Campaign Evolved

Release Date: July 28, 2026 (Early Access July 23)

Halo Studios confirmed the release date alongside a new trailer for Operation: METEORITE, three new missions featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson on a clandestine UNSC operation. Available day one on Game Pass and also coming to PlayStation and Steam.

Senua

Release Date: 2027

Ninja Theory's surprise reveal at the Summer Games Fest was its third Senua title. A new action-adventure set in the Hellblade universe, picking up after Hellblade II. Senua is trapped between life and death in a fractured purgatory and must fight her way to the afterlife. Described as an interconnected world with boss fights, puzzles of perception, and tactical combat.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond

Release Date: Spring 2027

Toys for Bob announced the first completely original Spyro game in nearly twenty years. True dragon flight, a new world, expanded exploration, and the return of Tom Kenny as Spyro's voice. More details to follow in the months ahead.

State of Decay 3

Release Date: 2027

Undead Labs revealed the first gameplay trailer. Players can play solo or co-op with up to four players and experience the game’s open world. Playtests are planned ahead of launch for the survival zombie title.

Clockwork Revolution

Release Date: TBA

inXile's time-bending steampunk RPG returned with a deeper look at protagonist Morgan, a heist gone wrong, and the villainous Lady Ironwood. Confirmed as a permanent Xbox console exclusive alongside E-Day.

Minecraft Dungeons II

Release Date: September 29, 2026

A new adventure in the dungeon crawler spin-off, with new environments, tougher enemies including the Twisted Warden, and expanded character customization. Pre-orders include bonus skins and a pet.

DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations

Release Date: July 7, 2026

A new campaign expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages, set in purgatory. The Slayer confronts new truths, new demons, and wields a new Chain Spear weapon. Available on Game Pass from day one.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Release Date: October 23, 2026

A first look at the game's extraction mode, a solo or squad-based sandbox where players loot, fight, negotiate, and extract from a volatile conflict zone. Call of Duty’s Warzone battle royale and DMZ content will be available for free.

Persona 6

Release Date: TBA

Atlus dropped a world premiere teaser for the next mainline Persona entry. No details beyond the announcement, but it is confirmed for Xbox and Game Pass.

Persona 4 Revival

Release Date: February 18, 2027

A full reimagining of Persona 4 with enhanced visuals, modernized gameplay, and quality-of-life updates. It is available to pre-order now.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember

Release Date: Early 2027

Team NINJA's follow-up to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, set in the aftermath of the original. An evolved Chinese martial arts combat system and a fantasy late Eastern Han setting. The original game joined Game Pass alongside the announcement.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Release Date: August 27, 2026

Set fifteen years before the first A Plague Tale, following a new protagonist named Sophia on a mysterious island tied to the origins of the Macula. Close-quarters combat, exploration, and an emotional narrative are the stated focus.

Metro 2039

Release Date: February 2027

The next Metro game received its first gameplay trailer, set in post-apocalyptic Moscow. New weapons, new mutants, and a villain called the Führer Hunter were shown. Fully in-engine footage.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Release Date: October 15, 2026

Developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the creators of Dead Cells, in partnership with Konami. This is a 2D action-exploration game set 23 years after Dracula's Curse, following Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor. Its gameplay involves the use of tarot-based Arcana skills that create a modern take on classic Castlevania structure.

Valor Mortis

Release Date: September 24, 2026

A first-person Soulslike set in a twisted version of the Napoleonic Wars. Vincent Cassel voices Napoleon Bonaparte. Players rise from death as a former soldier, wielding supernatural powers against monsters and conspirators.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour

Release Date: 2027

SEGA's revival of the classic arcade series adds a story campaign across five cities, online multiplayer racing, and car customization. The game retains mechanics from the original Crazy Taxi.

Where Winds Meet

Release Date: Available Now

The free-to-play Wuxia open-world ARPG launched on Xbox the same day as the showcase. A new expansion, Hidden Mountain, is coming in July 2026.

Magicians: The Devil's Deal

Release Date: 2027

A narrative first-person action game set in a nightmarish Victorian London reimagined as Theatreland. Players control Jacob, a fallen stage magician bound by a deal with the Devil.

Vivarium

Release Date: 2027

A life-sim adventure inspired by classic cel-drawn anime, developed by Studio Meadowflower and published by Serenity Forge in partnership with Shochiku and Crunchyroll. It is a non-linear narrative in a cozy, explorable terrarium world.

JOIN US

Release Date: March 2027

A darkly comedic cult simulator by an indie studio Wolf Haus. Players can build a compound, recruit followers, issue teachings, and prepare for the apocalypse in one-to-four player co-op.

Bad Magpie

Release Date: 2027

Bag Magpie is a debut title from new indie studio Milktooth. A one-winged magpie wreaks chaotic havoc on an idyllic world in what appears to be a narrative-driven action game. No further details given.

Along with the new hardware and games, multiple Xbox titles, including Sea of Thieves and Age of Empires, are also getting new content drops. Xbox fans and Game Pass users can look forward to all of the new content in the coming months.
